I’m thinking that we might have just had our best ever December, certainly in terms of overall results; won 5, drawn 1.

We’ve had some cracking results and games in December - Fulham and the memerable Boxing Day comeback against the world’s biggest club spring readily to mind, but a haul of 16 points (or 11 in old money) is possibly our best ever?

Anyone be arsed to get the record books out?

I seem to remember 2004 we won every game including the 4-2 game at Sheffield Wednesday and I think the 6-1 Tranmere game was in there too.

Good call, Elliot scored 7 in 5 that December.

Yeah, 5 wins in a run of 8 spanning November and january.
16 for and 5 against and beat Donny too.

Was home on leave and these were the only games I saw that season as I got called back early january after the Tsunami on boxing day.

Do people actually recall or just look it up? I’m getting worried that December 2004 is just well gone for me! <laugh>

2004 and 2012 were excellent Decembers but I'd say that this one trumps both due to how our season had panned out up until this month.

That Leicester game we should have won as well! We should have murdered Leeds by a bigger score, 6 or 7 wouldn’t have been flattering.
I don’t recall seeing such a one sided game ever.

That Leeds game was an absolute joy to behold and was one of the best City performances at the KC.

Bruce actually bollocked the team for "showboating" rather than scoring more goals.

Colin was their manager at the time.

I went for a month in Los Angeles staying with a mate when I was 26. Went 4/12 came home 4/01.
That was the best December ever.

Warnock said that they were flattered by the score and losing by 6 or 7 wouldn't have been harsh. The sight of the few remaining Leeds fans greeting their players with chants of "What the ****ing hell was that?" was wonderful to behold. At the time I was told not to overdo it because of heart tablets I was on. But celebrated that win so heartily I ended up in hospital for 9 days. Not that the wife has ever mentioned that since everytime I have a skinful.<laugh> The fact it has happened on more than one occasion since involving drink and City matches doesn't help either. I put it down to coincidence.

An actual quote from Colin, " I just want to reassure the Leeds fans, we will improve, we'll get some players in and we will improve. We won't be as good as Hull City, but we will get better".

That must have gone down well <laugh>

My husband has had a quick look and in terms of points gained plus the results cannot find a better December. In Dec 1932 Hull City had an unbeaten run of 8 games which included a cup replay with results W3 and D5, but that could only claim the most matches played unbeaten in December.

    Hope that helps!

Allegedly it’s the best December for any club in the Championship since it became known as the Championship (I read somewhere, but I can’t remember where).

Given the state of the squad this season and the fkwittery on show by the greedy bar stewards at the helm i would argue this eclipses any of the seasons mentioned so far. What this bloke has achieved with little to no help from above is tantamount to working a miracle imho.
