Yeah just read, that Espinoza is known as a tough tackler, to say the least.

Do you want to run that theory past David Buust sometime? I'm sure he would love to 'educate you' otherwise.

We saw this last year in the derby games, after you said that none of our players would even make your squad, let alone your starting 11.

he snapped the ligament and you cannot fix the ligament, it wasnt the broken leg that ended his career

    And?

Our second 11 played out the final 10 games and still finished above you. You hang onto 1 game.

I'm talking about 38 and with us having a hugely weakened team, you still failed to finish higher than us.

SAFC = Top NE Club 3 years on the trot. Do we get to keep the trophy now?

You're wrong there, sunshine, but are along the right lines. In the man's own words, from a Daily Telegraph interview -

"Basically, the muscle in my leg sort of exploded and they had to cut part of it away in what was operation No 15. That's what stopped me playing again. The break healed beautifully, but by the time they had finished cutting, there wasn't enough muscle left to work the tendons."

Having suffered a couple of broken legs during my playing days, I don't go with this 'it heals stronger' mullarky. My experiences tell me that it never feels quite the same again, and you are most definitely more conscious of it possibly happening again.

I am not hanging on to one game, I am responding to your post about players proving themselves in the forthcoming derby.<doh>

Please go back and READ what you have written regarding HBA being fit for the forthcoming derby game. You did not mention the league. But typically of you, you want to move the goalposts.

Personally, I would rather he played and have no excuses for the defeat afterwards. Our best v their best and to the best team the spoils. Then we will really see who's players would make who's teams.

As for the league, well boo hoo you had injuries. Yes you were top of the injury list and we were second, but that is why you have a SQUAD. For years people have been banging on about clubs needing strength in depth, or hadn't you noticed.

It takes a special kind of asshole to gloat and take plesure in serious injuries that arise from dirty tackles. And as described by a Kansas City fan Ben Arfa was "stretcherd off after an unfortunately typical Espinoza challenge". Ben Arfa isnt a crock, people just seem intent on injuring. O'Shea got injured all on his own that should be more worrying should it not

    Agree with that.

I pulled out of a few tackles 15 months after shattering my knee simply because I was wary that it could happen again so easily and then I knew it was time to call it a day.

I was only 23 when it happened.

I think you will find that the vast majority of replies to this article have condemned that train of thought.

Sorry to hear that mate...I did carry on playing right up until I was forty six, but in the end the injuries I had received over the years just made it too painful to carry on.

He meant to hurt Ben Arfa that should have been a straight red.

Looks like a genuine attempt for the ball mate, his eyes are fixed on the ball, not Ben Arfa.

That said, you can also see his legs fully extended and the studs are showing, so genuine or not, it's a bad tackle.

Is there no vid of it up anywhere?

No video at the moment but that defender made that lunge after Ben Arfa passed the ball it's from behind, both feet are off the ground that means hes out of control and studs showing surely a red card?

When are you going to get over the fact you had injuries?
All clubs get them, all you go on about is injuries and being the "top NE club".
You also go on as if we didn't have a weakened team, you think there is so much glory in finishing above a newly promoted side by ONE POINT despite being dominated in both derby matches, the fact is we had a better season then we expected. You were supposedly going for Europe.

It takes a special kind of person that uses one train of thought against the vast majority of oposing views, to make a sackless and cak handed comment such as this too. The VAST majority of fans here wish Arfa a speedy recovery but casting doubts on whether he will ever be the same again isnt gloating. Its called opinion. There are not too many examples of players who have broken legs, or suffered severe injuries, that have gone on to recapture former glories. They come back but rarely achieve their full potential again. Sadly, that could be said of our lad Campbell too.

Just to fill you in on O Shea as well, he didnt sustain his injury on his own, he was engaged in a tackle and his leg was turned mid air by the attacking player. I am very unconcerned about the long term outcome but can you say the same for Arfa?

With Cabaye, Marveaux and Ba also very injury prone, its looking more and more like a huge gamble that they can all stay fit for the season, as ALL your hopes and ambitions seem firmly placed on the success of these players.
