Nope - but I KNOW where I CAN get it on draught and it's less than 2 miles from my front door!!! <cheers>

One of the small joys in life is eating a pub lunch of comfort food on a freezing cold Autumnal day. I would normally choose Newmarket Sausages on a bed of creamy mash potatoes ensconced with a thick rich onion gravy and a big lashing of hot Colmans Mustard. All washed down with a pint or 3 of Adnams Ghost Ship. It must be Colmans as nothing else quite hits the spot! I will be outraged though if the birthplace of this wonderful condiment is uprooted away from Norwich. Colmans and Norwich are one in the same and just go together! <ok>

factory alive a couple of years back?
With a diet of mainly agriculture and tourism East Anglia has not suffered as badly from closures and cutbacks as the rest of the country.
But in this case, Colmans is as integral to Norwich as Wherry beer, a good ol' mardle, Wherry barges, crab salads, the singing postman.......need I go on? :emoticon-0112-wonde
{Much as I love wholegrain and Dijon mustards, if you want one that you can actually taste, then it just has to be Colmans English - not this French or American wussy crap <ok> }
 
Do they also make their Horseradish sauce at the Norwich factory? That is also one of my Colmans staples!

The really sad thing about these huge corporations is that they have no sense of history or respect for the communities that rely on these jobs! I would imagine that there are 2nd and 3rd generation families who work at the Carrow Road factory. Moving Colmans out of Norwich would be the same in terms of impact as if Greene King were ever to move out of Bury St Edmunds!!

Well sadly no more beer or chips at the Erpingham Arms (just off the A140 between Aylsham and Alby, where the craft centre and caravan place is. Closed suddenly yesterday citing:-

“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close the Erpingham Arms from October 10th until further notice.
“After a poor summer of business, sadly it is not possible for us to keep the pub up and running.
“We would like to thank every one of you for the support and loyalty you have shown the Erpingham Arms over the years.”

Yes, I guess it's one of those pubs that's a bit 'off the beaten track' and some serious competition not too far away - the Walpole Arms, Saracen's Head and the Buckinghamshire Arms to name but a few. <cheers>

Plus the Crown at Banningham is very close.
Only been once but surprisingly busy for a remote rural pub.
Great food reputation.
Shame about the Erp Arms, weaver's way runs right alongside, so there are superb rustic walks back to Cromer via Felbrigg estate (w.way goes through it) or Aysham via Blickling estate, the footpath runs round the edge of the lake <ok>

Sad to see these old pubs disappear. I guess a lot is down to cheap supermarket booze, and also changing attitudes to drinking/driving (a good thing, but I'm just saying - it seemed ok back in the day). I hate goumet pubs and their fancy menus.
I grew up (well, practically) in the KIng's Head in St Faiths, still hurts to drive past and see it as a private residence.

I know what you mean gandy and I think there's space for all.
I did a walk on Sunday from Wiveton Downs and called at the Dun Cow en route and the Wiveton Bell following the walk and both were absolutely rammed with diners - probably mostly overflow from Burnham Market/Holt etc <laugh>, but I was also able to get a decent half of Mongazer in both. <ale>
