Some sensible comments from Lorraine Kelly - https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4941223/like-delia-smith-i-find-the-fancy-food-fad-hard-to-stomach/ I also enjoy 'poncy' food occasionally, but I wish most pubs would just serve decent sized portions.
Must have been quite a Herculean effort to get this much scoff all on the one plate!? Surely enough for 3 people there?
Good effort but what heathen put the fried eggs next to the beans? As Partridge put it, use a sausage as a breakwater.
I see the Grosvenor is doing deep fried Christmas dinner. I can’t copy and paste as I'm on my tablet but it is on the BBC website
Yet another reason to AVOID it like the plague. Edit - I seem to be in a minority (along with the General) who detests the plaice!!
Got it from my lappy now! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-eng...ets-deep-fried-makeover-by-fish-and-chip-shop
Which when I did have the cod, it was COLD in the middle!!! I'll stick to Stafford Street (or the Chip Inn on the rare occasion when I'm in Long Stratton!!)
Fantastic to see this - I'll certainly be giving it a try next year - http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/lucy-s-fish-and-chips-wins-national-award-1-5321668 It's GOT to be better than the Grosvenor!!!!
Simple then, treat them all to fish and chips, you're such a wealthy man Seriously mate, well done, the world is a better place with people like you in it
Just spotted the lucy's article and you beat me to it. I'e always preferrd Ron's practically next door. both are always busy and better than the grossvenor bah!
I can see an 'away day by train' to Peterborough is on the cards. The Oakham 'Brewery Tap' is a few hundred yards from the station and it's also a reasonably priced Thai restaurant!!
