It certainly became in need of some TLC Cromer for sure and sounds like it has recived some worthy investment. It is as you say a great place to stay for bird watching and the old guy Rob (handyman cum gardener) was an expert in pointing out where to go and what to see. Kelling Heath is a wonderful spot and in more recent years we have regularly taken an A-frame lodge at Weybourne in the forest and again a real treat. On that note, may I suggest Sculthorpe's Hawk and Owl Trust which is an idyllic spot for peace, quiet and som excelelnt bird life. They have the highest hide in the country and we had wonderful views of Siskin, bramblings and woodpeckers recently. They also have a breeding programme for Marsh Harriers.

Just returned from lunch with my sister and brother-in-law, opened my birthday present and found a selection of items including a bottle of Broadside and a bottle of Ghost Ship, wonder if they will remain unopened until Chelsea v Spurs?

Not to mention marsh tit, nuthatch, bullfinch, reed bunting, etc etc. If I lived nearer to Fakenham, I'd either have a seven day membership or be a volunteer, helping with land management, customer services, etc.
My first butterfly of 2016 was a brimstone at Sculthorpe, late March <ok>
    Love the place.

Yep, those too. We did actually join because although we can only go infrequently, it was a place and an organisation that we felt was worth supporting and protecting. It is yet another small piece in the fascination of Norfolk generally.

Holy hell, a round on Saturday night would be £1500. A "little" over my budget. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

The bar at the Brewdog looks like a large urinal.

This is very apt considering what appears to come out of the taps.

I've not been to that place yet, a friend who I will be taking on the city of ale with said it was good but eye wateringly expensive. I'll stick to the Murderers and Ribs of beef for my more pricey beers!

    Bah!
