9 pints, bought at Woodefords for £17:99. They let me try it before I bought it. Also had a pint of Bure Gold while I was there.

Yes, it's definitely good value and I quite like it - not so keen on Bure Gold. My favourite tipple at the moment is Adnams Mosaic, but only when it's on a hand pump - too expensive otherwise at nearly £5 a pint!!!

Don't normally drink anything this pale and lager like, but it tasted quite good and seems like a nice summer drink.

I much prefer the 'lager coloured' ales (they predominantly use American hops I believe) and if you ever see any Oakham beers (JHB, Citra (hint of lemon), Scarlet Macaw, Inferno etc!!) I suggest you give them a try!!!

Have tried the Oakham ales, not keen on beer with stuff added, "Honey beer" etc. Prefer "original brews.

I was talking to 'Tiny' who runs the Alex and they had had Scarlet Macaw as a guest beer last year and he said 'it flew out of the barrel!!!' <rofl>

I quite like Citra, but the honey ales are 'YUK'

Isn't Citra named after the variety of hops used? I presume it does impart some citrus flavours, but it isn't an additive in the same way honey flavourings are.

We held our wedding reception in the Alex back in '88 nice to know Tiny still runs it. His wife 'Neets' did a lovely spread for us, presumably she's still around too BH ?
