Can someone give me some advice for Football Manager? There's a defender who is apparently valued at 1.5m which Newcastle are willing to sell me for 500k, and his value is way more than anyone else in my squad (playing as Forest Green), but his tackling skill is about the same as my current defender in his position, but he has better other stats, but since he's worth so much, in theory he should be a much better player than my other player (who's worth about 2k), despite having the same tackling? I guess having consistently decent stats is better than having one or two good stats and not so good other stats? I just wanted to ask before I blow a large chunk of my budget on one player.

I need some advice for Football Manager if that's okay? Newcastle are willing to sell me a defender valued at 1.5m for 500k, but his tackling ability is pretty much the same as my current defender in his position who has a value of 2k but he has better other stats, however in theory because he is valued so much higher, he should be a much better player right? And I guess having consistently decent stats is better than having a couple of good stats, even if they are the key stats for that position (i.e. tackling and heading)? I just wanted to check before I blow a large chunk of my budget on one player.

Edit: Quadruple post, sorry.

Post a screenshot of his stats page. Also, what division are you in?

ALSO, quick shout to Dean Stoneman for finishing 6th on his GP3 Series debut. He was due to move up to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series (pretty much the level below F1) in 2011, when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of just 20. Now 23, today marked his first single seater race since then, and he's done absolutely no wrong whatsoever :)

Tackling isn't everything for a defender. Marking, heading, anticipation, positioning, strength and jumping are all important.

League 2 with Forest Green Rovers. It's on my phone so I'm not sure if it's possible to take a photo, though I may try taking a photo of it on my phone with an actual camera. Though I believe their heading and tackling is about the same. I've got a budget of £1m, so far I've bought a central midfielder for about £140k and a right winger for £17k.

Should be able to take a screenshot on your phone...check the Googles for your OS, I know that you can with Android and iOS (and god help you if you have Windows phone, not because it cannot, but because Windows phone).
