OK, just for you Beefy, I'll change personality to public persona.

Ok now..? Does that feel better..?

I don't know that, let's say, Lorenzo or Pedrosa's public personas are any better or worse than an F1 driver. Rossi is a one off, but then he'd be the same in any sport - that's nothing to do with his love of two wheel racing, it's just who he is. He's the Kriss Akabusi of Moto GP let's say ;)

There are plenty of personalities in F1 (throughout history) though granted, some of that is drilled out of them by the corporate bods more obviously in the modern era, but I don't see (bar Rossi) anyone in MotoGP that I'd want to go for a beer with significantly more than Mark Webber for instance.

Admittedly, I'd rather have a pint of cyanide than beer if I were out with Paul di Resta, that much is true.

I get what you're saying TSS, I really do, and much of it I agree with, but there's definitely a slight case of bike-tinted glasses going on!

Speaking of characters in MotoGP, today marks two years since we lost a great one in Marco Simoncelli. RIP :(

Loved Simoncelli. Actually, that discussion regarding personalities has made me realise something - of course the F1 lot seem a little staid currently - there's no Italians on the grid...!
