So, this american government shut down thing is pretty batshit. Could you imagine if it happened here.
 
I was looking at the Premier League table just a moment ago and was wondering what was odd about it. Then it hit me. It reminded me of how things used to look in the early 1980s, before ManU were anything other than just another football club. Well, I mean look:

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley reportedly talked Alan Pardew out of resigning as Newcastle manager.The Magpies fell to their third Premier League defeat in six games, after a 3-2 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park.Romelu Lukaku scored a brace, and Ross Barkley also found the net as Newcastle's defence fell apart in the first 45 minutes. Ashley watched the first half capitulation from the stands, alongside director of football Joe Kinnear. According to TalkSPORT, Pardew met Ashley after the game and 'offered to resign' as Newcastle manager.However, the former Charlton and West Ham manager was given a vote of confidence by the owner, and told that his job is safe.
