Going back to Pete Townsend, apologies for coming in late to this but he was the one who invented the windmill-arms style of guitar playing, which our very own Mick Channon would use as his trademark goal celebration.

I went to see The Who for my 18th birthday present in November 1971, at the newly-opened Rainbow in Finsbury Park, London. They were brilliant. The next time I saw them was at Glastonbury in 2007, and they were still just as good. I, for one am extremely envious of Godders.

For those who don't know The Who (poor lost souls) here is a clip:

Pete Townsend is the guitarist jumping around in the white jeans.

Simply the best Rock and Roll Band ever.

PS If you too would like to visit this particular property PM me and I will tell you how but no riff raff are allowed.

I find Lemon entertaining but he isn't witty or clever or anything. I got a Keith Lemon card for my birthday and my nan pointed to the card and said, "I can't stand that man!" <laugh>

I'm familiar with Pete Townsend, do I get a medal? :p My favourite guitarist is Johnny Marr.

Been watching this for the last 10 minutes and Bale hasn't touched the ball even when he is providing a very good outlet. Do I detect petty player politics already..?

I think your detection systems might very well be playing up TSS as Bale isn't on the pitch at all! ;)
