have you read any austen novels? she is THE novellist. she wrote satirical novels about the middle and upper class people of her generation. her books are still selling like hot cakes and films/tv productions are being made of them 200 years later. so obviously, she has done something special.

well deserved to be on the note.

Nothing wrong with Austen being on a note. Just hate it that feminist are saying it's victory for women etc.

It's not models in the traditional sense, they call their branch staff "models." They have been in trouble numerous times for only employing good looking staff. A few years ago they also got sued for making a girl with a prosthetic arm stay in the storeroom, as she didn't meet their "image". If you are unsure whether this could be the case stick your head in their store, you don't end up with your entire workforce looking like they do by accident. Horrible company.

You won't convince Duckhunter that a woman could possibly do anything of real cultural significance. They're for looking pretty, making babies and making food; anyone who says otherwise is just being politically correct. Writing is a man's job.

Anyone with any information or photographs which might help, or witnesses who have not yet made a statement about what they saw on the day, are now being urged to contact case worker Amanda Jacks.
She can be reached via email at [email protected]

    mens jobs include;

all DIY around the house including plumbing and electrics.
fixing the car when it is broken - **** it - building a car from scratch like my daddy can
    all gardening/outside issues including drains/guttering

find me a bloke that can do all that like "proper" men can, and i will be a lovely obliging housewife.

I'm good at none of those things. But I do fancy myself in the kitchen. Perhaps a role reversal would be in order.

I have basic car fixing, plumbing and electrical skills. Couldn't build a car to save my life.

Hmm, well I come from a family where all the blokes are, shall we say, resourceful. Yes, I can do the DIY, electrics and the plumbing. Sadly, us resourceful types aren't legally allowed to touch some of the electrics anymore, but I've had to repair some bad wiring done by certificated electricians.

I'm not interested in fixing a car, but I could and have done. I maintain my motorbike and I have built one from parts before.

And yes, I'm OK at gardening [was married to a landscape architect/gardener, so learned the technical bits of that] and do all the guttering, drains and stuff too. If I don't know about something I find out. Oh, and I also fix computers and build them from scratch too from parts that people throw away not-knowing that they've chucked away £50 here or £100 there in single parts value.

I can cook pretty well, clean, wash clothes, etc.., and generally look after myself. Which I'm entirely happy about these days. :)

What I can't do very well is multi-task, but I'm working on that too.

EDIT: Just read that back and I'm not happy with it. Sounds boastful and I'm not trying to be. I would however encourage everyone to try to be resourceful. It's good for the planet.

I'm lucky I don't have a garden. I find it one of the most boring things to do.

I don't know if many people here like a bet but I've just been looking at some ante post bets for the season and Newcastle to be relegated looks a fantastic back to lay opportunity.

    Can be got at 10/1

Great price, just trying to do the maths to see how much I should put on. Can easily see a 50% profit return on the initial stake tbh
