Groin-before-wicket does not seem to be a common thing. It should be, dammit, that was hilarious.

Ah, I see. He was obviously too old and too remote for you. Wasn't a hero of mine either, but you kind of grew up knowing about this historical German keeper who played something like 450-500 games or more for Man City, and who played with a broken neck for the last 15 minutes of a Cup Final. Was a prisoner of war too. Turned people's attitudes around by being such a nice bloke. I recently read that he changed the attack tactics of the day by catching the ball in the air [a rare thing back then] and rather than wait for the area to clear, as they did in those days, he'd throw the ball out to one of the backs to start a quick counter attack. So that's where today's German team got the idea from. :)
