I adore Italy - my favourite country. As Fran says, the Tuscan hills are just glorious. I still intend to retire there, drink red wine, eat olives and play chess with wrinkled old men.

I, too, dream of an Italian retirement, but mine involves more "bunga bunga" parties and hookers.

New season of Luther starts at 9 o'clock on BBC1, definitely worth a watch if you've got an hour, it's a psychological crime thriller following a flawed yet brilliant policeman.

Not sure if already mentioned but bournemouth are hosting real Madrid in pre-season. Wtf?!

Tickets at £60 for non season ticket holders, good for the club but could be seen as profiteering.

If it was for a league game, I might be inclined to agree with you. For a friendly however, it makes a lot of sense.

Great series. <ok>

Is that with the guy who played stringer bell in the wire? Now that was a cracking series.

The fee makes a lot of sense? Or the fixture? Fair play to them for taking on a top team. Id be passed off if saints were charging that much for a friendly though. Mind you with the way things are going...

Excellent, I could easily believe that was written by a 20 years-experienced Journalist, then again my expectations of journo's aren't particularly high haha, but still... ;)

Thanks Mikey. Over 2,500 views on my first articles for them in just a couple of hours. I've got to be pleased with that.

All about capitalising on the wider audience and making the most of the NewsNow affiliation. Those of you who use NewsNow to keep track of Saints news may have to put up with me appearing more often over there.

Thanks for the kind comments.

You're climbing the ladder. I hope you had a bit of a celebration.

It certainly is, Idris Elba is a great actor and The Wire is my favourite (the best) TV series ever.

I'm not in with any footy journalists particularly, but further down the line if you want an intro to Paul Weaver, who is the F1/cricket correspondent for The Guardian, am happy to do so. May not be a huge amount of use to you, but let me know.
