I've always considered myself to be reasonably good with Geography [it is part of my degree], so Geoguessr was going to be tried. I did ok, but not spectacularly well. Suffice to say I always got the right continent, and 99% of the time, the correct country. However, I did give myself one limitation and that was that I could only turn 360° and not otherwise move, nor zoom or anything else. I thought I was off to a flier when the first picture came up that looked reminiscent of either somewhere in Nova Scotia or Bluff in NZ. I've been to Bluff but I've only seen Nova Scotia in documentaries and the film The Weather News. Imagine then my delight when I zeroed in on the map to allow my total guess to be precise [who was I kidding..?] and then found that in the entire World I was 0.016kms out. In fact, I'd made my guess on the other end of the very road that Google had been advised or decided was the centre of the place.

It all went downhill from then. :)

EDIT: Oh, the place..? Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia.

Out of curiosity, what has Nova Scotia ever given to the world that merits a documentary? It was the time we blew ourselves up, wasn't it.

Finally got this bloody game working. Found myself in Land's End, New Zealand. Of course I picked the wrong end of the country. Fun though.

A good rule, TSS. If you deviate from that you'll soon end up clicking down a highway in Utah searching for a road sign for about 20 minutes and then spending a another 20 scouring the map looking for some small town or random landmark. Worst one I had was when I had identified I was on 'Dempster Highway' just off a junction from 'Klondike Highway' in the Yukon, there was a road sign indicating Whitehorse to the south and another town to the north, with no distances marked. 'Easy', I thought, I knew roughly where Whitehorse was so I just had to go north from there on the map until I found the other city and then locate the correct junction in between. Turns out they were 300 miles apart... <doh>

This is a cracking test match. NZ 3 down.

Indeed.

With every wicket which Southee took, the more confident I became that we would win this. With all due respect to him, he is not McGrath or Steyn or Walsh. Whatever Southee can do, our attack (and not just Jimmy!) can do more.

And importantly, two of NZ's four quickest scorers are gone (Rutherford and Taylor). Last thing you can afford to happen when you're trying to defend under 250 is someone smashing a quick 50. Just need to be careful of McCullum and Southee when they walk out.

Yes indeed. With a relatively low total you only need one player to put in a good score and someone to hang around for and hour or so and thats 100 knocked off the target.

If we get Mccallum early then it will be game over. We've not even seen Swann yet.......

Five down, and like I say, this is of no surprise. If Southee can get wickets, so can Broad and Jimmy! All down to McCullum now really.

Cal Crutchlow is a mad bastard. He had a crash yesterday, and in his own words... "I fractured my tibia, my knee's swolen, internal bleeding, I was coughing up blood"

He's about to go out and race in MotoGP, starting 4th on the grid! Gotta get more guys behind him, the man's a machine, and he's British too.
