It does seem to be getting dark earlier than normal today - oh, wait...
Don't worry. Tomorrow will be lighter for just a few seconds longer. We're turning the corner. Summer here we come.

Ha, one of the guys from McFly is getting married at the church in my town today, and Robbie Savage is there for some reason.
The only dude from Busted I know is Matt Willis, because he did that awesome song Hey Kid
Lots of factors involved in this terrible crime, but he is just the type of person who should never have been allowed to watch violent video games. He lacked empathy for other people and could not distinguish between fact and fiction. Access to guns and a survivalist mother didn't help either.
Just seen this on the news, I quote:
"The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun."
Crazy.
Pleased it will slowly get lighter, but the worst weather is always after Xmas.

The NRA have released a statement regarding the newton shootings, effectively blaming television and video games for the violence and calling for armed guards in schools. Absolute mentalists.
Well, in my opinion, the USA does has a love affair with the gun, which is kept alive and well [if you'll pardon the expression] by such things as TV, Films and Video Games, because they offer up a world of cartoonish violence, in that people don't really die or get injured. Yes, only the simplest of persons would fall for that, but the IQ of a person in the USA is not a barrier to owning a gun.
However, the NRA's statement that there should be armed police in every school is bloody ridiculous. America is not a frontiers nation anymore. They can no longer go west and seek fame and fortune, as the old saying went. They don't seem to get the fact that if they took away the right to bear arms they would be a lot safer. It makes me cringe that even an obvious anti-gun President such as Obama, can only back the return of the assault rifle ban. He has called on Congress to pass legislation banning military-style assault rifles and high-capacity ammunition clips. It would also close loopholes that allow people to purchase guns without background checks. He has also appointed the Vice President to head a task force to explore ways to prevent mass shootings, including by improving access to mental health care, and addressing depictions of violence in popular culture.
Well whoopie, that'll save everybody won't it..? And this is the problem with the US. Even a President knows that a proper anti-gun law doesn't stand a chance of succeeding, so he chooses an option to appease all sides. Yes, it's a first step, but it's by no means guaranteed, and the real success will never arrive until the generations pass away that still think the gun is a right to own. And I hope that when they start addressing depictions of violence in popular culture, they get the backing of Hollywood. Because without it, they'll still have their Dirty Harry's and their Wyatt Earps.
