Hahahaha loved reading a story from a reliable and decent guy on another forum.
He's based in Dubai, and was in Abu Dhabi... here is his story:
"ARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
I don't farking believe it.
I SAW NA 6 hours ago. FFS
There was a bloke came out at the golf club in Abu Dhabi - looked the spitting image of Nige inc the mannerisms. He was sitting about 70 yards away wearing White shirt tie & Dark Trousers and was starting a meeting with a mid 50's guy with short cropped grey hair who was wearing a paleish blue Polo shirt.
I actually said to the Manc I had been playing with - Ha that looks like Adkins, then said pah wtf would he be doing here in Abu Dhabi
Oh Krap bugger feckballs Krap"
The man he had pointed out to a friend that "looked like Adkins" was Nigel Adkins. He's holidaying in Abu Dhabi at the moment.
The fella found this out as a post on a Huddersfield forum detailed a fan on holiday in Abu Dhabi meeting Adkins in a bar.
Anyway for what it's worth NA told the Hudders fan that he's not spoken to anyone yet, and is upset by what happened at Saints.
Seems like he just wants some time away from the game according to this Hudders fan.
Here is the post about DubaiTerrier meeting Adkins for those interested in the story:
"Whilst out on the booze tonight at a venerable establishment known as Trader Vics I bumped into Nigel Adkins. He was wearing a pink shirt and chino's which is only interesting because that was what I was wearing too hence conversation starting.
Nothing like the stereotypes of people who work in football, just an unassuming normal bloke. He was clearly gutted about what had happened at Saints but didn't want to comment on specific clubs or jobs despite my gentle pushing. What he did say though was that he hadn't spoken to anyone about another job, got the impression he was just happy to have some time out. From other comments he made I don't think he'll be rushing back into any job.
I couldn't get him to say anything about Hudds in particular but as I say no one has approached him yet and he doesn't seem mad keen to take another job straight away.
Top bloke though, and great dress sense."
