I knew I was being hopeful when I wrote 'if', but who thought we'd lose to Doncaster or Bristol City (twice). We have been quite blessed with other results before, so miracles can happen.

Not tedious if you're a PFC fan.

Cala has threatened to pull the plug unless a deal is done today..! Feel sorry for the real fans!

If that story is true it will be very sad news I don't care how much we hate our rivals I would never want to see a football club be put through that.

Without going into whether one has enough in one's life so that Saints don't take over the entire attention span, I have come to a certain point where I've checked my emails, done my business for the short term, looked at some Sailing news, checked out again whether I'd like to sell my Honda VFR and buy an SP1 or 2 instead, and then sneaked onto Newsnow, or some such website and found Saints in the hunt for yet another player, or the same player with a better offer. I'm not cheesed off with Saints, far from it. I'm cheesed off with bloody transfer windows instead. I wasn't keen on the idea of introducing them, in the first place, although I would give them a chance before I made my mind up. But they've proven to be an aid to clubs who have cash to spare, i.e. the already successful bigger clubs, and a hindrance to the poorer, smaller clubs. Their aim was to stop bigger clubs from buying their way out of problems on the pitch, and instead have introduced bigger squads to the few clubs that can afford them, to the detriment to competition. Finally, they take away attention from where it should be - on the pitch.

I suppose they help forums to talk about something to help fill the gaps between games, but that's a poor reason for having them.

Very good post TSS which covered my original point in posting perfectly.

I for one will be glad when the window closes so we can all get back to matters on the pitch I do however still want one more player ( cause I am greedy ) :)

The skates seem to be saying that Cala isn't the main interested party. For their sake I hope thats right!

Hopefully they can get a good result on Saturday and sort out their ownership soon!

Never thought I would say the first part.

I always want us to sign a big name like hooper or rhodes. The excitement really gets to me. i am also very nervous that we won't sign any more players. but i hope that nigel and nicola do sign someone but i have total faith in them. As long as we don't lose one of our big players like lallana, lambert, cork or font ect then i will be happy.

Totally agree about transfer windows. When we signed Keegan it was a bolt out of the blue. Much more exciting, and meanwhile when I met up with fellow Saints fans we talked about football as in what was happening around the country, and other stuff. The whole board seems to have gone on hold while we await the outcome of negotiations. Lamballana is bored rigid, poor lad, and keeps posting little bits for a laugh, but generally there is a dearth of football talk. I'm not pointing a finger, by the way. We are all frozen in the headlamps by The Transfer Window. Enough now.
