He isn't claiming it to be a fact. Its something he was told and presumably he thought it may be of interest. Some rumours turn out to be true and others don't. Having said that I would generally be inclined to have much more faith in a rumour from an unknown and unsubstantiated source than I would from the owners of our club. I think history has taught me that much.
Agreed. Slightly higher profile than Jon Beale, Hull City's excellent Academy Manager, there are cases were players have said, well ... they're homesick!

The part that puzzles me in this 'rumour','non fact' is,why would you ask someone on £80 a week to take a pay cut,when you could furlough them along with the other estimated 9 million others?

Quite a number of people have been asked to take pay cuts including several footballers at various clubs. Not sure if furloughing would apply to players who are not actually salaried but only receive an allowance of £80. But (as you say) why ask people on £80 per week to take a pay cut? I suspect the answer would be because it is the Allams.

Judges at tribunals don't deal with the cut of your jib or who has the better equipped legal team,they deal with facts in law.I'm not the Allams biggest fan by any means but this is just turning into a witch hunt with little or no foundation.
My understanding of furlough is that it you are on the payroll you are entitled to it. I wouldn't imagine at any point that they were given a brown envelope with £80 a week in it,that's definitely not the way a business at that level operates.
