The quote of AL being a Southampton player for the rest of his life is the one I related to my grandson aged 9 whose hero at the time was AL on a visit to SMS. I realise that many people in the world of football are devious, and at times plain liars ('the chairman and board have given the manager their full support' same manager sacked days later, scenario), but being a captain of your side call for a greater level of personal responsibility to those who support you and the team. I can't get into the abuse or bad-mouthing of AL as some have already done, though I understand it only too well, but as far as I'm concerned AL has let a 9 year old (and many other similar young fans who will not understand the reasons for his departure) down really badly in the way he appears to have gone about this move. It won't register on his conscience, I'm sure of that but of one thing I am absolutely clear about now, is that he has joined the long and growing list of people who cannot handle being famous in a gracious and responsible way. Perhaps the ref was right after all last year 'Adam until you started playing for England you were not like this etc@. I don't for one minute blame people for being ambitious but I am full of scorn for those who cannot hold to a clearly stated principle as AL outlined in the quote above'. That quote ought to be very obvious to him on his every appearance at SMS, held up by the young fans he has badly betrayed.

Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.

Unbelievable that after everything our captain acts like that. I don't blame him for wanting out, in a way I am very happy for him, lambert and shaw that they are able to fulfill their ambitions.

But to treat the club that made him, stuck by him when he had a heart condition, stuck by him through his lack of confidence, sang all season long with joy about him beig called up to England the way he has is absolutely disgusting.

The quote about wanting to be at Liverpool for the last few months is an absolute disgrace. I hope we never have a player like him again.

Might ask PaddyPower if I can get odds on Lallana kissing the badge within 10 matches of being at Liverpool, absolute tool.

I agree Osvaldorama I don't think it's the fact he's left which leaves a bitter taste, it's the way he's left. He'll have a very unhappy experience when Liverpool come to SMS this season, I guarantee it. And it's nothing less than he deserves. I'm not sad he's left, I'm so angry at how much of a prick he's been.

Am I the only one that thinks we might have the last laugh in all this? Only one good season in the PL ... I've got a feeling that this be a very disappointing transfer from Liverpool's perspective.

He'll flop I think. All it will take is a few bad games for him to lose his place in the team and he won't get the time/love that we gave him down here to get his form back. £25m is a big tag to live up to and I don't think he will cope too well, especially as he won't be the main man up for them.

I wonder if Liverpool will allow him to pay the free role? Think Suarez will be the workload when he gets back and will restrict Adam's game.

Taking off my angry glasses for a moment, I think he'll be a big success if he gets a run in the team.

Putting my angry glasses back on, I hope he'll be **** and end up at QPR or West Ham while JWP gets his place in the England squad.

What a wucking fanker.

Suarez will be sold surely. Liverpool have said he is not for sale unless his release clause is achieved...anyone know how much that is?

Apparently it's 100mil to a PL club and 70mil to a foreign club.

Barca seem interested, I have a gut feeling they may offer a Sanchez plus cash deal.

I'm a Liverpool fan and I hope we sell the ****er - cash in now and get used to life without Suarez. Spend the money wisely, and it could turn out to be good news for Liverpool. I just hope if we get a huge sum we don't do a Spurs <laugh>
