So we don't need a replacement because we have a load of makeshift right wingers? Well in that case we have Perch and RTaylor for left back and Ba/Ameobi/Best/Lovenkrands/Ben Arfa and Jonas even played up front last season. It's another gaping hole in the team, but no worries, it's nothing that signing another goalkeeper won't fix. <ok>

Zacchhhly! If Barton needs to go then let him, I don't think he is as untouchable as a lot of Mags think. We have Ben Arfa, Obertan, Gosling, Marveaux, Abeid, Vuckic, Cabaye, Toyote, Gutierrez, Ferguson, at least who can play in midfield, not forgetting Guthrie! Get rid of Simpson too, and bring back Tavernier (if that is possible) in place of him, he's ripping up trees at Carlisle apparently.

Bullshit is he. Well, he certainly hasn't been for the first two games this season. Influential, yes. But technically he's nowhere near our (not 'are') best.

Yeah, that'd be a brilliant move. I'm sure the quality of Carlisle's opposition matches those that he'd have to face in the PL.....

You may be right mate, I've only been watching NUFC for a little while, had a season ticket from 1991 till 2 years ago, only go when I can get tickets now.

I think Tavernier is a good prospect, and if he has a full season on loan this year he may be ready to play a part in our squad next season. Think it's too soon for him now tho. Simpson is okay for now - we're not going to get anyone better for the time being.

Don't like how he is playing the victim on Twitter "My hands are tied, no contract extension so my mind has been made up"

You rejected the offer you prick, I like him as a player but HE put himself in this position by thinking he was one of the big boys who could put pressure on the top to get more money. Nolan as well. He knocked the offer back then slagged MA etc off. WTF do you expect them to do give you more money for that, nope contract offer withdrawn and stuck on the transfer list. Didn't expect that!!!

No sympathy, I'll not boo him but hope QPR go down now.

Anybody else think that the others players will be a little happy in a way if Joey goes? That will be the Carroll-Nolan-Barton clique well and truly mashed. We've all worked cliquey places (well those that are old enough) and it does create divides that the majority of people don't like.

IF we sign a couple more players I think the squad will be happy. And midfield we're sorted. It's upfront and defense that needs players. Whereas if it was S. Taylor or Colo going we'd be ****ed. I don't want Joey to go, just trying to look at the positives.

The man is a ****er but I for one believe we could do with hanging on to him, until Christmas atleast. Get 2 or 3 players to bolster the squad, and then pack his bags for him, unless he puts the club first and stops trying to show off because he has just learnt to read and write.
The chairman may be a plank, we all know that, just shut up and get your head down. For years we have been a team with a trouble maker in the ranks. It gets a bit boring, atleast Tino was class to watch!!!

Agreed - Don't want Barton to go but get the feeling him and Nolan both thought they were big enough to put pressure on to bigger contracts. Big mistake being the midfield is one of the stronger areas, our defence is pretty settled as well (apart from LB).

LB & Striker still prioity, JB doesn't really need to be replaced. IMO

Yeah, Obertan and Marveaux are the likely replacements. But Marveaux has no PL experience and is coming back from a long term injury, Obertan also hasn't played much. We still need him on the right IMO until at least Christmas which will give the other two a chance to settle.

Yeah, I think some of the young'uns might be a little intimidated by him, might make them a little nervous on the pitch too.

I absolutely hated the concept of Barton being in the Newcastle team two years ago. Typical thug, vicious, no chance of redemption etc. He turned that round last season, and I'm a not 606 user(/former 606 user), so you understand how hard it is for someone to change my mind!

The guy was at times inspirational, his passing superb, his willingess to work outstanding. Make no mistake, we are losing a top player and it will weaken the squad to have someone else in that midfield instead... I think it would be a bit ungrateful to boo him if he comes back, as he's clearly tried his best to stay, if I've read between the lines to any decent capacity. Anyone stating it's up to him not signing a contract which was laid infront of him by NUFC. This is Ashley. Team destroyer, club decimater. The man who puts ridiculous bids in for players and plays the "we tried to sign them, but it didn't work" tact. I am more inclined to believe Joey personally, and will welcome him warmly whem he returns. But it's up to each individual I guess.
