I haven't read the whole thread so this may have been mentioned further down. I went to Ainthorpe in the early 80s when it was a Junior School between Infants and Seniors. So I think this is later than this Fred guy.

The games teachers at the time had the boys play a game that was sort of a relay race between teams but the losing team had to take off an item of clothing each time they lost. Until on team was down to their pants. Weird in itself except to keep score he always chose one boy, the same boy when I think back on it, to be a human scoreboard. He take his top off and write on his chest. They really disgusting thing was he'd take that boy into his private shower after each lesson so he could "wash the ink off".

I didn't think anything of it at the time. I don't think any of us did. However, it all fell into place years later when me Mam said he's been charged/sacked/sent down, I don't remember which, for kiddy fiddling. I honestly can't remember his name but he was also a Special Constable and policed City games, and knew the players, so he said.

Diabolical really who peoples lives must have been ruined.....

Totally repugnant.

Fortunately, I don't recall anything like that happening as a child (although it is worryingly amazing what we can hide away or just perceive as 'normal' at the time). However, with regards to showers after PE/Games at Juniors, it was the norm for the teacher to aggressively insist you got stripped off to shower and also the norm for him to watch you (and the rest of the boys) get showered.
 
Should put him in a cell with Matthew Falder, they can shag each other to death. On second thoughts they might enjoy that...
