Don't be concerned, we are and will always be for the foreseeable future, a mid-table team.

Smith is certainly not a Charlie Austin. But if we play with wide men (width) who do actually sometimes put in a good cross, then he is much bigger threat than smaller men such as Washington and Mackie.

I do believe that currently we are more effective offensively with big men upfront. Take a look at the Millwall, Burton and also yesterday’s match.

However, if Ollie’s tactics are to tire the opposition with fast but smaller players before bringing on the big men, then currently it is not working.

This could because we currently have a make shift defense and we go behind.

Let's wait for the team against Fulham.

It's like we set up away from home for a draw all the time. It's so frustrating , selection consistency is what will be our downfall. Hollow constantly tinkers when no tinkering is needed. I sometimes wonder if he actually thinks he is outsmarting opposition managers. Regardless of home or away, we should always field our strongest 11 available .

A couple of frustrating results that’s all we have a team that can match anyone in this division although Villa could run away with this league imo
They are getting stronger and stronger
We have just hit a flat spot but our midfield is looking the best in the division imo
Can’t fault any of them just need a bit more class maybe on our finishing as the effort is there for the full 90

Holloway currently stands 9/10 in my book

Agree that our midfield looked very solid last night, good mix of defensive/attacking and creative/solid. Add a natural finished into the equation and it could get exciting. Either we need to go out and buy one, but that'll be costly, or hope one of Smith, Sylla, Mackie, Lua Lua, Washington or Osayi-Samuel hit some decent form.

Within reason. Every other team sets up differently home and away, and if we didn't we'd soon get very easy to predict. Changing tactics is a part of keeping the opposition guessing.

    So do I.....
From what I understand from yesterday...theirs was a good goal.........and then we came back into it.We were all over them 2nd half and we had numerous chances, which we failed to put away.
It then takes an excellent shot from Freeman to get the draw.

We need a striker with confidence....However I can understand the dilemma of what Ollie is trying to do.
He needs Conor and Mackie to harry the oppos defence, but he also needs Smith to be at the end of the crosses

I am beginning to feel that Ollie is soon going have to take a risk of giving a mixed combination a good run at this in an attempt to produce confidence and a straightforward system.
Connor to run, harry and pester and Smith to act as a target man. It would be ideal if we did have a more mobile target man (but that is not Sylla).

Centre forwards are very hard and expensive to come by...wish the BFG had settled better

I am not going to knock 'Hollow' as he is a limited manager and I think this season he has over achieved. Burton and Barnsley draws are what I expected tbh (actually I thought we would lose to Barnsley). As long as we stay up he has done a good job. I would take 4th from bottom now.

From what I have seen, their goal was a cracker (as was ours, to be fair) and aside from that, there were few clear chances aside from a few long range efforts. Defences appeared to be on top.

We're not out of september yet, so it's a little early to be talking about what people would 'settle for'....

    I would agree with Willy
QPR actually have a defence in this team and it’s gettung better and better
Wondergoal from Barnsley no one was stopping that and we dominated the game from 40 minutes to the 94th away from home
Our midfield is as good as any ones even though the performance of Pavel last night was slightly questionable there will be more days like this
What makes me sad on this forum is the fickleness of opinions
FFS look we have no Redknapp we have QPR people running the team affairs now and have a strong championship team

    We are not Real Madrid
We are not even ready for the premier league
We were the laughing stock of London

Let’s recover first before we start worrying about things out of our control This current team is working hard we owe them support

Can you do me a kindness?

    No More

No more bullshit from anyone and that includes me

On paper we should be concerned about a lack of goals but 13 teams have scored fewer than us.

It is encouraging to see the team keep up the pressure for so long and to nick a goal in the last minutes and from the match reports it was all QPR regarding chances. Better a point than nothing but it is about time we got back into winning ways.

I know it sounds funny but I think we'd probably be more confident going forward if we had a consistent, fit and quality defence. Alas, we do not.
I feel more hopeful now that Luongo is back (not to score himself but to get the ball rolling). I just wish we would try starting with the other two strikers or maybe even give Lua Lua or Nbakoto a chance up front.

Every time I've seen Ngbakoto in the flesh he's been dreadful. Lua Lua I can take or leave especially now we've got Wheeler and Bright. None of them give us a bit of everything in a striker we'd want. Sylla should offer that but he's bloody lazy at times.

It's a tricky one for Holloway. He wants to play 4-3-3 (451 if you want to call it that) but none of our strikers are honestly up to it consistently. I wouldn't be averse to trying Sylla there.

Which is why I think we should have two strikers as standard. I don't mind trying the three defenders thing but we must have two strikers, in my opinion.

About Lua Lua and Nbakoto: let me ask you one thing... have you seen either of them play in their preferred position?
