Something that hasnt been considered - unless I missed it - is that Nick's hero status is now ensured forever. He couldve easily done a poor job this coming season and the fans turn on him and we end up with a Phil Brown / Ashbee situation in that some still love him for what he did whilst others point out the subsequent failings. As a result of this, he's something of a God forever with unequivical support.

Bet he's chuffed with that.

Ive always had this feeling that Nicks comments to the press where carefully scripted but not by himself. There's a lot of truth in that also it proved a lot of fans don't care about loyal players/club servants, and Nicky probably took note, I would in his shoes.

I don't know this as a fact, but I think there's a chance Barmby has been suspended by Ehab, due to comments made in the press about transfer funding(or lack of) in the club.
