It really isn't a conspiracy theory. It's just the sensible thing to assume. At any other club this whole thing would have been an outrage, here it was exactly that for about a day, and then suddenly people started saying "What if he was lying all along." Those are the conspiracy theories, the ones where stuff is made up against all the evidence just to suit an anti-Barmby argument.

Thats just bollocks but it came from OLm most likely, spoon feeding comes to mind.

OLM also reported Barmby was given a better contract than Pearson, was that cost cutting.

So in the worst recession for years the Allams are cost cutting, my god are they stupid, do they know nothing they should be spending freely.

Barmby's personal friends who post on here have said time and time again he doesn't need the money, he's got more already than he knows what to do with, he never needed to work again etc so, if he was paid off, that says everything I need to know about him: He's as much all about the football and not about the money as Bullard if the claims he's been paid off are true.

That said, they also claimed he was eager to tell "his side of the story" whatever the hell that means, but quite clearly (no surprises here) won't. I'd say that's because if he did, it would put HIM in a bad light.

Ok ... I too was under the misconception that NB just wanted the truth to come out, wasn`t bothered about the money etc etc etc... and now we see that both parties have accepted fault for the situation.... surely if NB was so outraged about the manner in which he was dismissed no amount of money would make up for the loss of his reputation as construed to. Don`t get me wrong I thought it harsh at the time given his service to the club, but it seems that some on here like to thicken the plot a little to get a bit of drama going. NB was niaive, simple as, the suggestions he made towards the end of the season smelled a wee bit of trying to blame the owners rather then himself for failing to make the play offs. Despite what is suggested on here I suspect that only 3 people know the truth, Poppa, jnr and NB, despite what is alluded to on occasions. Lets hope this draws a line underneath things, and allows the club and supporters to move on, hopefully to an excellent season ahead.

I don't know Barmby as I am sure almost no one on here does either. All I know is he came to play for his hometown club, coached his hometown club, helped get his hometown club to the premier league. Who cares if he got a pay off? It doesn't make him right nor does it make him wrong. It also says nothing about him. At the end of the day I am sure Barmby loves this club but no one has to love him back. Everyone should hope that if a Hull City lad ever rises to the skill level that Barmby had lets hope that they do the city and club proud. It is life and it never goes quite to plan. Personally I hope that one day he watches a game from the stands and cheers on his hometown club once again.

Where has all this Barmby bashing and Bruce loving come from?

Don't get me wrong i think Bruce is far more experienced and that you can see, however if Barmby had brought the players in that Bruce has which he may have no doubt we would be where we are now. I don't get why we bash Barmby, he has taken what i assume is a lot of money, more than some of you will earn so i don't get why you would bash him, he clearly has something worth keeping secret if there willing to pay him. We will never know, however i don't care if i am been honest. Nick Barmby was a great player for us with great potential to be a good manager, and we now have an experienced manager with the chance to win promotion to the Premier League i can't deny been happy.

if this was a game of pontoon i'd be quite happy to "stick" theres no need for a witch hunt , and altho we all wanted to understan what really went on , all parties have reach a conclusion , quietly and nobody or the club has lost face . In the end it seems everyone has come out of this quite well .

I'm not 'Barmby bashing' - merely asking for OLM and PT to reveal what it was that they couldn't tell us all about at the time.

barmby has actually shown his true colours which I said he would long ago

its all about £1.5 mill or whatever figure it is ... nothing about the "truth" which was basically never going to be exciting ... welcome to reality

5 straight defeats in March/April with no plan b and a squad he had chosen not to expand. He had to go.

you know what? nobody is right or wrong.

Barmby needed time to learn the ropes & with backing from the faithful might well have granted him the 4-5 years necessary to learn the job. I would have granted him this time. Yes he made mistakes, who wouldn't? We wouldn't have been as patient with anyone else.

Allam doesn't have the patience to wait for Barmby to develop as a manager. he wants PL and ROI. He's made a bold, very risky expensive decision. But he knows how to play the PR card - he puts money in charities, he hires a well-known boss (for this league a very good one let's be honest)

NB walks away untarnished and with a bag of gold.

But is that what he really wanted?

    No.

If Nick wants to say the story from his side, then I'm sure he will, he hasn't been gagged or paid off and told he isn't ever allowed to talk about Hull City again, that is a fact. Maybe he will tomorrow, maybe next year or maybe never, it is his life and his "story" and he can make his own decisions and do what he thinks best for him and his family.

It is utterly pointless me or anyone else saying what we know, it will only result in a lot of abuse, accusations of lies and won't prove anything. I stand by what I have said in the past but going over all ground won't achieve anything, I'd rather use my energy supporting the team tomorrow.

1 win in 12 (and 2 wins in 15) in all competitions at one point wasn't it?

You (and OLM?) shouldn't have made all those claims that you 'weren't free to speak until it was all over' then, should you?

Either say what you know; say that you don't know; or risk being labelled 'cop-out'.

You can label me what you like, I couldn't care less - as I said, I stand by what I said previously but why if I post some more stuff will everyone suddenly believe me. After all this time it is clear people have made their own minds up and me posting something isn't suddenly going to make them change their mind.

PT - I haven't made my mind up! I thought it was a bad move sacking NB; thought the Allams had behaved badly. I'm pleased SB is NB's replacement (if he had to go).

But I'd just like to hear the 'nitty-gritty' that you and Lambo are party to.

How is that too much to ask?
