I knew there was the Premier Club one on March 4th, but I didn't know there'd been one the week before. It's very strange, considering all that was going on at the time, that there seems to be very little reference to it on any of the sites. There's plenty of references to previous forum's on message boards and news sites, but very little on this one, when you'd expect the most reports. Nigel's already done a forum in the Premier Club, maybe he wants to have his clear-out before attending a more general one.
The fans forums are generally a waste of time anyway. Based on past form if we had one now this would be the sum of the content: Fan 1: Firstly thank you Mr Allam. There's rumours going round that the club's debts haven't been cleared, can you tell us what the situation is? Club: The owners came in and invested a significant amount of money to remove the threat the club faced but there are still ongoing matters like the wage bill to be dealt with. Fan 2: Firstly thank you Mr Allam. My question is for Nigel. Will Gerrard be coming back next season? Club: It depends on whether Cardiff get promoted or not. If they do we can't afford him. If they don't we'll see what we can do. Fan 3: Firstly thank you Mr Allam. Can any of you tell us who we're going to sign this summer. Club: Nigel has given us a list of players he wants and we're doing what we can to bring thioose players in. We'd rather not discuss names until deals are done. Fan 4: Firstly thank you Mr Allam. The team was very negative this season, can we look forward to more attacking football next season? Club: The first priority this season was to stop us losing and the defence was identified as a major problem. With limited resources we could only sort out part of our problems for the start of the season and we had to proceed with no recognised strikers. We moved to fix it in January but then suffered because of the injuries to Cameron and Richard. We'll be making further signings in the summer and with Cameron due back in October we hope to have plenty of more attacking options available. Fans5 onwards: Firstly thank you Mr Allam. Will we be signing (insert random name)? Club: We can't comment on individuals until deals are done.
Whatever anyone's opinion may be on fans' forums. People pay an annual membership to the OSC, with the main selling pooint being free entry to the annual fans' forum and player of the season awards. The club have managed to cancel both meaning that (at no fault of the OSC) our memberships are pretty much pointless.
A fair point. I'm not actually a member, but it must be infuriating to have the main highlight that comes with it robbed from you!
why they cancelled the player awards? the forums are a waste of time, all difficult questions filtered out, and the ones asking what type of pies will be served next year allowed through..
At the Premier Club forum's with Duffen and Brownie you weren't allowed to ask any direct questions at all. You had submit a written question and it was read out on your behalf by Alex Burgess, once they'd all been vetted by Duffen. At least at the last one Adam, Nigel and Steve Walsh were happy to take direct questions and they stayed after the forum finished(other than AP) to just chat with people, along with Craig Shakespeare and Mark Maguire.
oh well done, this all justifies your one-man crusade against AP I suppose? Trying to argue that PB would have kept us in the PL is irrelevant, as no-one will ever know. A complete season has passed since these events, we've all moved on, why don't you?
