Injuries come when a player is stressed, unbalanced, overstretched, tries to impress too much or tries to correct his own mistake in a hurry, lacks concentration and mental discipline. Professional players who play within themselves most of the time are very rarely injured. They can do nothing about a horrible tackle ( unless they are clever enough to foresee it and avoid) but they almost never injure themselves. I simple bad first touch or a bad positioning can lead to overstretching, the need to get the ball back from the opposition and as a result an unnecessary injury. Lack of concentration and injuries go hand in hand ( Diaby?) Arsenal are a team who clearly lack discipline and concentration, make small defensive mistakes too often due to the poor positioning. Any player can get an injury, but some are injured more often than others. That is because they more often put themselves in a position where they can get injured. This is a little bit like poker - it is not about luck, it is about knowing how to put yourself into position where you can get lucky and avoid situations where you can get unlucky. A reckless, poorly calculated move leads to the need of an extra effort which leads to an injury. Isn't it obvious?

Having said that Sagna is a pro who plays within himself most of the time, yet he had his leg broken twice in a year. But he could do nothing with this one:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" - The Frenchman has been ruled out of Euro 2012 with the break, his second of the season and the 29-year-old was unhappy with the 25-year-old.

“I think he did it on purpose,” Sagna told L’Equipe.

“He stepped on my leg. Play continues, I get back on my feet. And when I tried to control the ball, I felt a crack, just like the first time at Tottenham.

“He stepped right where the plate was. I think the plate pressured (the bone). It’s a neat break, just above the plate.”

The Arsenal right back said he was confident he would overcome the injury.

“That’s how it is,” he added. “It’s football. It has happened to others before me.

“I came back once, I will come back a second time. Even stronger.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really admire this guy. Top top class, even on a bad day i am confident to see him on the pitch. Lets hope he will be alright. We need him.

    Feel for Sagna.

Anyone who has played a contact (or semi contact) sport will admit that injuries are part of the game, whether unintentionally caused or otherwise.

I have no idea, what this bloke is normally like. But calling our players 'weak' because they had their legs snapped is very tasteless. We have seen these 3 players (Diaby,Eduardo and Ramsey) get their leg broken and they have never returned as the same players. Those moments have been very hard to take for Arsenal fans, so his comments got what they deserved.

I also posted a UEFA co-efficient. He said that we're not as big as the bigger clubs, well that just proves him wrong! We're one place below Real Madrid in the co-efficients. I'm sure he'd consider Liverpool a big club, yet look at them.

been reading some absolute crap from arsenal fans following the match. i wont say the refereeing wasnt to a low standard, but that was pretty uniform throughout 90 minutes...as for johnson deliberately standing on sagna - i'll presume that if you believe that then you've either not seen the replay or you no idea about football...

poor old arsenal. imagine finishing in the top 6 of the premier league year after year for however long you have...poor lambs...some of you seem to have no idea how the other half live...your biggest disappointment is not winning a trophy in 7 years...try the majority of football fans who will likely go a lifetime without their team lifting a trophy of note...

that comment about arsenal going down being a disaster for world football...just, wow...proper cringe all round...

i remember a time when arsenal were thought to be the team with that little bit of class about them...seriously, what happened to you?

How was that hilarious? Song would have Grant Holt for breakfast.
Even a dimwitted hothead like Rooney knew it was wise to back off when you square up to Song.

If we got relegated, that would be one of the biggest disasters in world football because of how much money we generate and the ''quality'' we have.

If you can't see the arrogance in that statement, then you are even more arrogant that I first thought, or just not that bright. No one would give a ****,

  19. It would be one of the biggest disaster in world football. Aside from deaths, I cant think of many bigger disasters - maybe Juve getting relegated... any others?
