Not our finest hour by any stretch of the imagination , a big shake up in our scouting system needs to be undertaken and for a Club which publically announced that we look at potential targets for 2 years then definitely something's not right .

I'm not arguing with your comments , overpriced if you sell or buy at this time of the year Andy Carroll 35 million a few years back, pure desperation but good business for Newcastle , Torres 30 million in the same period who I don't even think is kicking a ball anymore .

I agree on this one. Strikers/wingers are supposed to go at goal when they got a break. It's just showing his confidence...

I really don't think we should even consider selling Ayew in this window. The main reason for getting a striker in would be to score goals, (I am not being facetious there). If you think about our first 4 games this year, when we had a striker that scored, plus Ayew, albeit not playing in 'our' style of a winger, we were in the top 4 in the league. He is one of the classiest players at our club at the moment, along with I would say: Ash, Siggy and Leon. We need all 4 in every game that is possible from now on. P.s I would like to include Montero in that, but what is going on there.

I do wander why. Not that money per se, but no one coming in at all. Has any other prem club not brought anyone in at all?

Last time I heard we refused 14 million from Sunderland , I wouldn't even consider selling Ayew for less than 18 million , and then I still wouldn't consider it unless we knew we had a striker coming in .No striker, no selling Ayew .

Ok sorry, that is a better bundle. It would have to be so coordinated with players coming in. I think it is too late for that too happen, considering we haven't been able to attract anyone so far this window.

Think your right , I'm good without anyone coming in . The thing I like about Ayew staying , like Gomis , is they are working off their wages .....basically costing us nothing really .

A new manager with new ideas and a fresh impetus and we could be ok as we are , the midfield players will imo start to contribute more under this regime but and its a big but it also could go belly up without a competent goal scorer coming in.

I would be fine with Gomis going I think. He just isn't good enough/has our club at his heart. But interesting point there. If he went for the medis talked about £7 million release clause, would all of that just go to him as part of his signing on bonus. If so maybe we should keep the offside machine

The media in the north east are reporting that we have made a fresh offer of 10m plus Borini, for Ayew.

Don't think that is a good deal sorry. Ayew scores more goals to start with so what would be the point for us,

You get an average player with potential to fill his position until the end of the season, plus 10 million in the bank to reinvest. At the end of the season, you will also have a player who has adapted to the first team or a saleable asset <ok>

What would be the benefit to him of going to a team that is more likely to be relegated than us.

If Gomis left before the next game , if my figuring is right , he would get 4,545,000 pounds of whatever we got for him .Say we only got 4,000,000 pounds for him , we would have to make up the remaining 545,000 pounds ourselves . If Gomis stays with us for the remainder of this season and 2 more seasons , we would get all the money we sold him for after that .
