It means Gareth Bale was very important to Spurs:Avb was not willing to sell, Bale was not willing to stay, and the business men running Spurs cannot do without looking at price for Bale.Have they spent the money wisely?.

I recon it will be Pellegrini after we play city followed by Mourinho a few days later once we have given Chelski a thumping to be replaced by Ian Holloway and Billy Davies respectively!

Ok I am being silly but being silly seems all the rage if you want a chairmans job.

Does also highlight how easy it is to get carried away by "names" when they sign for a club. I remember Spuds bringing all those new players in a few months ago and a few comments about how unstoppable they would be and how we would have liked to have signed one or two of them but a strong club ethic and vision seems to bring you more success, oh and having Suarez in the side also helps :)

guilty as charged on that one,

thought Spurs would be better than they have been, i predicted them for top 3 somewhere, but too many foreign players in the team in one go, and they have to adapt to New country,Style of game, and team surroundings etc.

if they still have them players next season, and a decent manager, then they will be a force for top 4, hopefully by the looks of things they have fecked that up for this season, so one less team to worry about for top 4 potential rivals.
 
I listened to the match on 5 Live yesterday and listened to a bit of the phone-in afterwards. Of the 4 fans who called, 2 were season ticket holders. One said get shut, the other said don't, but as well as admitting that the new players still had to bed in, all four slagged off some of the tactics he's been employing.
 
You have to question the tactics AVB employs. It was the same at Chelsea - high line and supposed to be pressing but in actuality not working hard enough.

I have to question whether the players either have confidence in his system or whether they have the athleticism to carry it out. My feeling is that they lack the confidence in the manager because he's won nothing. But also, I wonder about the personnel - at Chelsea Terry was far too slow and lumbering to play an effective high line, similarly Dawson at Spurs. So the question is - does AVB get to buy the players he wants, or does the DoF/owner/chairman foist players on him and he is not cute enough to adapt to the material at hand?

Playing a high line is dangerous. Playing a high line with a CM as a CB is WTF.
 
re predictions.

spurs finsihed on 70+ points last year and missed out on CL by one point. thats all.... predicting that they finish top 4 was quite reasonable.

further.... they got rid of the one trick pony and put in 7 new players... 3 of them were over expensive trash but look at their team... its good.

and again... AVB was right they are still in all cups and ONLY 5 points off 4th...

in short they are reasonably placed still.... and have a pretty ok christmas schedule too boot. southampton away (not playing great now) west brom at home and then stoke at home before utd... all gimmies ;)

Why on earth make this move when clearly injuries have disrupted them.... I am extremely thankful they have done so as they are likely to not keep up with us for the next couple of games perhaps.
 
the points on swansea and southampton managers are well made. both would suit the purpose and no doubt both clubs are going to be worried.

you dont see Martinez being an option then?

i reckon the Swans could be worried, but doubtful Southampton have anything to fear, they seem to have a good relationship going there.
 
anyone think that we really underestimate the crowd impact on Levy here.

AVB had been roundly and soundly booed on both bad defeats, narrow losses, draws and even some wins. The fans are clearly making feelings known here and did this not make it really easy for Levy?
