We just make kick off most weeks.I’ll be rushing straight from Walt Jnr’s football training to the match. Last time we just about made kick off.

No it isn't. As I've just said, here in Aus everything on TV but we still get crowds of 80,000+. Or are you suggesting Australians are just more passionate about sport and have less to do than you Brits? After all, we only have white sandy beaches to pop out to instead, nothing too appealing.Calm down soft lad, it's everything to do with the discussion. If all the games are broadcast live into your living room then it's only a matter of time before fans stop going to stadiums.
Teams at the top of their various leagues will still attract a crowd whilst its on the telly but what about the rest of the football league ladder?

Or perhaps you're talking out of your arse and bringing up my location for a cheap point?[/QUOTE)
.
If it wasn't aimed at me why did you quote me and ask me how many times I'd bought a ticket?Exactly, my reply wasn't aimed at fans thousands of miles away in Oz, (Sydney whatisname) but he thought it was, it was meant for those in the Hull area. Put City on the telly every game and the the attendance in the stadium on a matchday would drop. The diehards would still turn up but the ground would be half empty.
You get crowds of 80,000+ for everything even when its on the telly do you?
Bollocks.
Us 'Brits' ( you ignorant ****) invented the game, so don't lecture us about being passionate for our national game.
Stick to Aussie Rules pal.
You, your mate and that bloke with his dog.
...
**** me you are a bit thick aren't you?If it wasn't aimed at me why did you quote me and ask me how many times I'd bought a ticket?
If you did actually mean games down here, I went just the other week to our brand new second division comp which has been seeing great crowds despite having every game available for FREE on TV.
**** me you are a bit thick aren't you?
Are you Les Paterson's lad?
Let me explain, I will type slowly so you understand, if football games are broadcast live in this country, England, not Ausfuckstralia, then it would effect numbers at the turnstiles. It's quite simple. That is why the point isn't aimed at you personally because you don't live in erm, England, and depend on the telly for your decent football, as your own is so ****e.
Haven't you any kangeroo's that want tying down?
Now **** off, MOTD is coming on.
Totally agree. It does my head in sat in the south east corner watching the players mingling around the centre circle for five minutes shaking hands with the opposition before going over to the north stand first and then half hearted going over to the other stands which at that point are pretty much empty .May have been said before on here but it’s ****ing pathetic where I sit in the south stand with people leaving early.
I don’t buy all the bullshit excuses either. Leaving at 88 minutes rather than 93 minutes is a ****’s trick. Stay and clap the team off.
Also, it makes no sense for the players to go to the north stand first at the end. The north stand supporters will wait for them to come over. The players should go the west, south and east first and actually force the supporters who are filing out to acknowledge them. Then go to the north stand for the celebratory cheers etc.
Cattle prodsThey should lock the gates and refuse to open them until 5 minutes after the end
Well tbh I’m not likely to hang around in the North Stand for long to clap players. Occasionally maybe, but not usually.May have been said before on here but it’s ****ing pathetic where I sit in the south stand with people leaving early.

Twickenham is full for rugby internationals when it’s on live tv too.You must log in or register to see media
What if they blew the final whistle 5 minutes after the end of the match?Well tbh I’m not likely to hang around in the North Stand for long to clap players. Occasionally maybe, but not usually.
On the other side of the coin I’m never leaving before the final whistle. That’s ridiculous.
Joking aside it’s just weird. What if they blew the final whistle 5 minutes after the end of the match?

Not sure that equates to second division football though
You could never miss the kick off or leave before the final whistle in your life but get stuck in a queue for a warm drink at half time because its freezing and the queue is slow because theres 20K in the ground and the service is slow and you start panicing, then it happens, you hear the roar, Gelhardt scores on 46 mins, oh f*ck...Joking aside it’s just weird.
You can miss the first couple of minutes of a match knowing even if you miss 2 goals the game itself isn’t over.
Miss the last couple of minutes and you could miss two goals that turn the game on its head and decide the result.
Presumably the same people leave cinema or theatre before the end to get a head start on other people as soon as they think they know how it will end?
You could see someone whose shift started early so they had to leave before the end rather than not go at all, but that must be a tiny minority. The rest are odd and don’t help the team at all at a time when matches are decided.
I still think the best approach would be like nfl and have Saturday as a non PL day. It's essentially that already with so many teams in Europe.I expect the 3.00pm blackout to be scrapped in 2029, at least in the Premier League.
