Currently averaging 31,749 and will beat 30,000 for the season even if no-one turns up for Pompey. 13th highest in England ATM, which is not too shabby in the circs...

    Nordic,
It's certainly not over yet, these players fight till the end of each game and I'm convinced there will be twists before this season is over.
Whether those twists turn out to be in our favour remains to be seen.
There's nine points to play for so there is hope still.

It is by far the highest average gate at this level of English football in history. Man City held the previous highest average which stood at 28,000.

Need 37,500 to get a 32,000 average for the season and they're expecting c.40,000...

32,157 average after today's 41,129. That and making the play-offs, together with a Wembley appearance, make it a pretty good season IMHO. However, promotion is the thing and the play-offs are a lottery, so, bugger...

say average home play off ticket is £17 that will be about £680,000 then 40,000 wembley tickets averaging £30 = £1,200,000 so a nice earner of about £1.8m. I will pay £30-50 for a home ticket to help Stewart and Jack and to keep Mcgeady here and renew my card but get that concourse opened up and put the away supporters back in the roker end and put fencing/perspex all round, Pompey should get done for that flare carry on.
We werent playing in the dark ages and they do need to pen the away supporters in they deserve it, i would ban Cov and Pompey ? fans next season

I've always been staggered by our support, even during the seventy and eighties the away support never dropped off.
I think the North East is a unique area in this respect, even down to no name teams like Boro.
even Hartlepool had their usual fancy dress turnout as Knights this season, our area is truly remarkable.

Bearing in mind our geography, the total fan miles travelled must be staggering - and I reckon only the mags might be as much . I once saw a site where you could get the away support numbers for all games . Can’t find it now .If anyone knows where to get all club away support figures , let me know and I’ll attempt to get some miles/fan/average info to prove the point . ( I like playing about with figures and spreadsheets (when I’ve got spare time, I’m not geeking about it !))

Always said it - us and the mags are the two best supported clubs in the country (Europe maybe?)

I just can;t see another couple of sides who would have such a fanatical away following regardless of how bad things are!! Look at the 15 and 19 pointers - I didn't miss a single game in those 2 seasons home, away, cup! Would still go to all home and awya now if I had the money and didn't have the family to support!!

Love our supporters! We all have idiots (some more than others) and Portsmouth were singing "your support is ****ing ****!" Well it's significantly better than yours is dickheads!!

I wonder how many Pompey fans would have made the trip to SOL two years running on a Monday night if SKy had reversed what they did to us. !

it was great going to Liverpool etc and standing in the 1980's. Rangers supporters are fantastic mind, Gary bennett testimonial and they filled the clockstand and roker and emptied victoria wine !
