We're not doing as you say though Dutch, were not closing and renaming, were just renaming. Closing and renaming would be akin to what's happened at Rangers, we'd have to start from the bottom.

I think the problem may be whether the FA recognise us as a new company or not. I don't think there'd be much problem, but I do think we'd be fined for annoying them.

Smug,

The one thing that is really hard for us as supporters is that we owe the owner a great debt of gratitude and at the same time many oppose a change to the clubs name.
Like Darlington we do not own our stadium and that is the bigger issue.

As you've been polite I'll give you my 100% honest opinion that I'm sure some won't like.

Hull are in the Premier League, with much credit going to this owner, and hoping to stay there.
If the supporters are prepared to jeopardise that position through disrupting the club, over what is a minor matter, then that appears to some as crazy.

Premier League survival often hangs by a thread and I'm sure the club needs everyone to be 100% focussed on that rather than have distractions about names etc.

Without any disrespect, Hull supporters aren't often in the position of enjoying a season in the Premier League so, to an outside, its seem that you're spoiling this one by concentrating on the wrong things.

If I'd put serious money into a business, saved people's jobs and brought pride to a city I'd be more than pissed off if I had it thrown back in my face due to what I saw as a minor detail.

Businessmen put money into clubs for prestige but also a return on their money. If this man sees objections at his business plan then I'd expect his first question to be,

"Where are the people who want to keep the club as it is and where is there money?"

No, they closed the financial side. What they then had to argue was that the new company owned the old club, which strictly speaking it didn't. They had to adjust things to let the new Rangers claim the cups and history of the old one, and not have to start at the very foot of the pyramid.

I could be wrong, but the privilege to play in the league is with Hull City AFC. If he wants the name to be something else, the league don't have to recognise it as the entity with the right to be part of the football pyramid.

It's not the new company, it's the new club, or at least a different one to the one registered.

It's like you trying to get a passport in a different name.

They don't have to, but they will.

yes saying in as many words "its his money and he will do what he likes" not "he can" ,,, it was "he will" ... bye bye CTWD campaign .. sorry but you got played by a business man

why does everyone keep on saying the FA have anything to do with it ? ...

its Richard Scudemore ...no one else .. we are not under the FA now .. enough notes go to Richard and it changes ... wake up people .. its money and money only

I understand what you're saying, but it's a minor matter that could and should have been avoided. Just consulting the fans would have helped. Many fans would rather stay in the championship than change 104 years of history!

What? The FA register the teams, hence why we are still called Hull City because the FA didn't want to recognise the name change.

It's more than just the name change. http://www.citytillwedie.com/ There's some background on there.

I'm giving my view as an outsider which is what I am so wouldn't benefit by reading your link.

What I'm saying is that the league will definitely go along with it and the name, to outsiders, is a trivial matter.

If it was our club it wouldn't be to some people but, as an outsider, I'm simply saying how it looks.
