Howe is going to rotate over the fixture congestion anyway. People will pick up knocks and injuries, so Howe can just let it all happen without letting anyone feel they can't trust him
Max would’ve suited yesterdays game, especially after the sending off, him and Fraser would’ve terrorised the Brentford defence. We win by 3 or 4 if he had been fit
Yeah I think we’d have brutalised them with Max. He would have worn them out, and created a lot more than we did without him. Perfect man when oppo goes down a man because he beats his man for fun.
I'm a little concerned about ASM. Ill again? Not sure that's the case. Wasn't it in the game against Brighton when he came on with 20 mins to go that EH was yelling at him to track back and protect our lead? Maybe he wasn't selected for the starting lineup last night and went off in a strop. But if he's not going to help the defence when the team need it, he won't help himself.
His attacking quality is worth the lack of defensive cover though really. He's still our best attacking winger. In a 4-3-3 the wingers benefit from more defensive freedom.
Definitely our best attacking winger. Would be even better if he passed the ball occasionally. You would think that EH feels the same, but will EH want graft or skill for the toughest games?
Hells teeth, that's dramatic. Is it a sensitive subject to question if a player will play for the team?
EH seems less focussed on how other teams are playing and more on how he wants to play. He essentially picked the same side for Brentford as he did for Brighton. I find that ASM is the one I am shouting at when we are up against it, but its worth having him on for the entertainment value, and his ability to do the outrageous makes it very difficult for the opposition to plan for, without leaving other players free.
You positive? Ah well you can still go to work now mate if you want. COVID became just a cold/flu overnight (although flu you ain’t getting out of bed with that ****). One day we were all gonna die, now it’s fine to spread it about like flu/cold. All the Covid Karen’s have gone very quiet too, maybe feeling they got duped a little
I work from home anyway so means nowt to me, only tested as went out with them last Saturday night. Got no symptoms at all. Not letting the Mrs know that though, planning on being Jammied up all weekend lazing in bed having her run after me with breakfast in bed, coffee's etc etc. Will be laying it on thick like Man Flu all weekend
Silver linings. My missus had zero symptoms, she'd have been out and about if she hadn't tested. Makes you wonder how often that has been happening anyway, because loads didn't buy into the whole testing lark. Quite impressive all told the way they've managed to shift the entire conversation though.
The infection rates are higher than they're being announced for that very reason. Whose going to buy a lateral flow test kit for a cough or sore throat? But it's generally a mild illness now rather than a potentially fatal disease. Vaccines have have been the life saver for many. Our critical care unit has have few people seriously unwell with covid for months. I've not seen any patients with flu for the second winter. A welcome bonus.
Now now mate. Remember it was the vax that got us out of it and stopped the hospitilisations. Honest guv.
Can’t quite tell whether you mean Covid itself was a load of bollocks or the government response was. Either way it clearly was a serious disease for a small percentage of the global population and either vaccination or illness-induced immunity seems to have taken the sting out of it. Did governments overreact in their responses? At first probably yes but a cautious approach is imo best when you don’t know enough about something. It has still killed ~ 0.1% of the global population. The numbers were up to 3x higher in countries that tended to dismiss the importance of COVID (e. g. Brazil) particularly if their health facilities were less than optimum and significantly lower in countries with younger populations and more aggressive policies towards containment (like Indonesia), although in some cases that may be due to deaths not being recognised as Covid- related. I think we (UK) did pretty well after a slow start. We have come through the worst of it quicker than a lot of countries and are now reaping the benefits. The vaccine development and rollout was incredible and helped to stop the illness being much more damaging. Its remarkable how quick even developing countries have been able to immunise their populations, particularly as more doses are being made available to them.
