I think Wenger transformed the way that football is played in this country and the last team that won the Premiership was the summit of his achievement. However, do think that the rest of football has caught up with him and, combined with his diminishing powers as a coach, I think he is in danger to having his reputation destroyed as his team is in a nosedive down the league.
As someone who regularly spends my holidays in France asnd have a great affinity for the people there, I have never warmed to Wenger. He has continually flooded his squads with foriegn players and is one of the managers whose decision to largely ignore English talent has contributed to the failings of our national team in an indirect manner. Having snapped up both Walcott and Alex O-C from Saints, I feel that he has robbed us Saints fans of enjoying two of the most exciting prospects in the game to have emerged in the last five years. whilst I accept that talent like this is always going to attarct the attention of the bigger clubs, it is disappointing that they elected to join an Arsenal team in a serious decline and more likely to be engaged in a relegation battle than being in purusit of a European position. Therefore, I don't have much sympathy for Wenger and if his season does not improve, fully expect him to be moved up-stairs.
In a nutshell, I love watching his Arsenal suffer like this! No sympathy whatsoever.
