Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Personally I would have gone 5-3-2 with Burn as part of the 3 CB Livermento and Trippier as wing backs. The same three in midfield with Longstaffing sitting deepest.

Then Isak and Gordon front two but playing quite narrow.
That I could have lived with.

Not what I would have done as I think that would have invited Arsenal to attack us which they did anyway but for me would have been too defensive minded and we haven’t been too successful with that this season in a number of games.

Big thing for me last night was how anonymous Miggy was and with qualification for his age Miley.

Miggy and Longstaff did virtually nothing the whole game.

This is exactly why they need removing from the side. Moving the same players around isn't going to fix much at all.

People can take the piss all they like but none of them were saying play miley were they? He got his chance.

Be proactive not reactive.

I blame this on EH. It looks to me that Trippier is playing as a wing back and Almiron has moved in to an almost no10 position where he not only gets no support from Lobby he now gets no support from Trippier
Ultimately EH has to take that one on the chin.

Injuries or not he isn’t changing his approach to games.

So you don’t even think one other poster would genuinely have gone for your midfield but you would want EH to have done that.

<laugh>

Well firstly I sighted a few options secondly none of you agreed with me when I said Joelinton could play there and it won't surprise me if you dont know trippier used to play cm and white is a good playe...Hall also used to play cm.

If you want to make your suggestion go ahead but I can show you what you said about Joelinton playing there .. the same laugh mate.

Any issues with Livramento at right back.. how would you get him there?

Botman needs to go in for an operation. Give him the summer to recover.

He's just struggling because he's been constantly worried about who's going to get in behind. This is the thing it's a team game and when good players are surrounded with **** players they look the problem.

Last season Newcastles back 4 pushed right up the pitch.... what Newcastle have out in front of them doesn't work.

From the bbc: there is a significant gulf in class which Howe's side needs to bridge to be on a level with the sides competing for the title.

£300m+ spent and were ****ing hurtling backwards.

The fact is forget last season... this season this side is going to up potentially mid table which is where it was under Rafa Benitez and Steve Bruce.

Isn't that poor considering the amount spent not only under this ownership, but that last two years of Ashley's?

Bruce got a good amount and it was regularly sighted as a reason why finishing mid table still was not good enough.... no progression was the angle they came in at.

Lol let's chase out our best players and go back to Ashley's signings.

you guys are insane.
