I'm more worried about global warming ... although it may have the unforeseen benefit of rendering winter heating concessions to pensioner's obsolete ... which will surely come as a relief to many in QPR's squad ... behind every cloud eh? (literally)
That's the price of success Queenie. When Martin O'Neill left, we collapsed and it took us a long time to find another quality manager. The difference to then and now though, was that O'Neill and all successive managers were expected, season to season, to conjure up a suitable squad on a shoestring budget. These days, we have a far better infrastructure, money to spend and sensible owners, so if we lost Pearson, I'd fancy us to appoint a quality replacement. The worst thing that could happen would be if our owners decided to pack up, but the signs, including taking over ownership of the stadium, are that they're in it for the long haul. It's exciting times for Leicester.
Had we built the KP 5 years earlier then MON might have been tempted to stay. As Lesta Gangsta said the club is now in the best shape of his history We're in the Premier League whilst the money is more then ever, we have wealthy owners backing the club, we're completely debt free whilst have have a 32K seater stadium, we have a very young squad pushing for success and we have a management team who collectively are one of the best in the country. Nigel Pearson on some levels I would argue is better then MON but that's partly because sports science is quite a new thing. Our future has never looked brighter on and off the pitch. So let's try and enjoy it
Bloody hell! ... that sports science stuff really is amazing ... a stadium that acts like a sauna? ... what will they think of next?
With NP we are lucky that i get the impression he kinda feels 'at home' here - also shown by his return. We have the money and the squad ethic he has spent years to build and so i think we can grow to southamption size IF the first couple of years go ok (and i am not naive enough to presume they definately will but the signs are good) and so i think he can grow with us and cant see a club bigger than that wanting him... but who knows. He is a top manager though and one with great dignity and honour. We are in exceptionally safe hands with NP. He staff team from his assistants all the way through to the sports scientists are excellent too.
I would say we are the same size as Southampton already Academy aside what do they have that we dont?
In Forster, Bertrand, Llanana, Rodriguez, Lambert and Shaw they have had 6 full England interntionals in the last 2 seasons
1 very good season but they have pretty much lost that entire team. We have the same stadium, size fan base. Similar historys. And for how good their academy is their yet to develop a world cup winner or someone who won the golden boot at a world cup
Forster will never get a game because this Joe Hart for some reason has to play every game Lallana, Shaw, Lambert all left Bertrand is just a loan
Obviously not a stadium share.... What he means is that the stadiums are exactly the same design, and I mean exactly. Same capacity, same layout even away from the stands and pitch area
Proud_Fox, this complacency could come back to bite you on the arse, so be careful what you're saying.
