I agree almost wholeheartedly Smug and some of the reactions have been over the top and I would hazard a guess that a lot of the most vociferous posts will have come from people who have never ever made any mistakes.
Reading your post made me think back to the last transfer window when there was an absolute meltdown on here and OTR where we were selling 5 or 6 first team players and replacing with no one and it all stemmed from post put out by so called journalists. My point being is that certain parts of our fan base can turn against the club with little to no proof, based primarily on wholly unsubstantiated rumours made up by dickheads trying to get more likes/shares on twitter to make them more relevant and maybe get enough followers to generate an income from social media and a lot of our fans do not see it and believe fully or partially what is written.
Back in the day you supported the club in ignorance of the behind the scenes failures and successes and now you have to support the club and try to ignore every negative voice trying to drag the club down weather they are outside forces or within our own fan base.
I love coming on here to read peoples opinions but do get frustrated when it becomes negative without much or no evidence at all. I think as a fan we all need to look at ourselves and decide what it means to be a fan and what the word support really means.
Opinions either negative or positive are great but should really be backed up with some thought and solid reasoning and not thrown out there because Nixon sent out a tweet with a **** story or a mis-leading headline.

I've dithered around for days about whether I should post my opinion or not. Then I faffed around thinking whether to put it on the 'ambition' thread or another. I didn't want to derail them, hence this.

I've had a look around social media, etc and was finally pushed into posting by reading the 'Quinn's Bar' thread on RTG.

I totally understand all the frustration, anger, etc, regarding our progress, the coach situation, BCB, etc ...

... but surely there comes a point whereby we're just attacking ourselves and falling out.

We all really know, whether we like it or not, that KLD, KS, MB aren't going to be forced out by the relentless bile and hatred. So, imo, all it does is distract from the next game and the rest of the season. We know, from O'Nien's Twitter posts, that the players read what we post and it has to be demoralising imo.

I'm probably a bit too 'rose tinted' from some people but I grew up supporting the club when we'd defend it against any attacks and have our backs to the wall even when it all looked lost. It now looks like we're fighting against the club, and each other, to the point where other club's supporters are commenting on the infighting and laughing it up at our expense.

The club f*cked up, they've apologised and will hopefully speed up the improvements ...

... we're still in with a chance of the play-offs, we've all expressed our anger/disappointment//etc, so can't we now concentrate on the football, the Ipswich game and the transfer window.

Just a thought, shoot me down if I'm out of order.

My take on this is that the vast majority of people are saying "the club" has authorised this, or "the club" has "bent over" for the Saudis with regards the ticket allocation etc without any real proof or substance to these claims.

Some people were calling for KLD to sell up when the pictures of the BCB were (deliberately) leaked on twitter, yet there is no evidence that he knew. The working theory appears to be that "the club" allowed their trusted contractors to do the work unsupervised and they took a punt/took the piss with the black and white signs. KLD refutes knowledge of this, but there are still some who are insistent that "the club" is at fault and we should "never forget" whilst pouring scorn on anything the club says now.

There is a lot of anger about and the media is picking up on elements of the story and positioning it to ridicule the club.

Whether will ever know the full truth is up for debate, but I think it's time we all put this behind us and focus on the rest of the season.

The biggest problem with the podcasts and fanzines is they are focusing on this for clicks and hits rather than attempting structured sensible debate on things.

I suppose its a sign of the times where sensible constructive discussion doesnt generate the traffic or clicks that fuel the podcasts.

Its a bit like RAWA, the BLC etc, they attempt to engage in sensible, structured dialogue with the club, but even then the way out opinion thats on both sides of the fence tend to get in the way of the real questions and discussion we could be having

Its a bit like the Clarke speculation, IF he was sold but that enabled us to bring in players that improve the team in a couple of positions (CF and DM) then thats how its meant to work and we should all appreciate that good sensible planning and strategy. I suspect IF Clarke does go, the bomb will go off and the bigger picture will be missed

Personally I can’t wait until MBS reaches his goal of making the mags a super club with their uberfans robbed blind or shut out for looking untidy.

In the meantime PIF is doping up the squad with oil money and our fans understandably feel left out. In a few years that’ll be replaced with the feeling of loss as they disappear into sporting franchise hell.

KLD is learning on the job, unfortunately every mistake he makes will be magnified in light of this and the fact mags are falling over themselves to point out every little thing.

Almost as if they desperate to wring every drop out the current situation before they are sucked into bland corporate moneyball.

It's just constant overreaction to everything. People have no patience and it's the same people every time who criticise before it's even happened.

I have no interest in what we sell players for, the club have very well paid people who do that and even when it is put in the press its never the real price - Look at that Gibbs White, Sky reported it was £40 plus million, when it was actually £20 plus a ton of add ons.

All i worry about is IF Clarke does go the money is invested in improving the team

I seriously can’t believe the ****e that KLD is getting on RTG yes the Newcastle game was a cock up at numerous levels but people calling for him to sell up hells bells get a grip if the average age on RTG isn’t 12 then these people need to give their heads a shake This club is now being run better than I can ever remember yes there are issues that need addressing on the commercial and PR side but the footballing side from top to bottom has been absolutely transformed. People need to remember where we were 3 years ago when KLD took over league one heading for administration with the heart ripped out of the club at a every level Firmly believe this lad will take us back to the Prem sooner rather than later time for some to stop acting like entitled Bairns and get behind the club

I sometimes find peoples whole attitude to sport generally but football in particular quite perplexing and this has been exacerbated by the rise and availability of anonymous platforms for voicing opinions

I (and I presume most other people) would not tell a mechanic how to fix our car and that he's doing it all wrong or a doctor how to make us well or a painter and decorator that they are hanging wallpaper all wrong but there seems to be a cohort of people who with absolute confidence will tell the owner/CEO of a multi-million pound turnover organisation that they are 100% appalling at their jobs and that they have all of the answers despite having never spent one second in a role of comparable significance.

I do think that it is reasonable to look at a single instance and opine that you believe that that particular scenario could have been handled better and put forward alternate realistic scenarios as an example (BCB being a case in point).

I would point out that I believe that an alternative scenario which included better oversight of the contractors would have produced a more favorable outcome but I am in no position to say with confidence that the original decision is representative of the body of work that the individual that made it generally. Experience comes from learning lessons and there are a number to be learnt from this weekend.

I am first and foremost a SAFC supporter and will encourage and defend the club. People may accuse me of being a happy clapper but raging against the machine gives you nothing but high blood pressure. KLD is the best owner we have had for some time and has a clear and positive vision for the club and I think that given time he will learn from this.

I've said it before but drawing the Mags in the cup has broken the fanbase. We're still sitting 6th in the league with a young, exciting squad packed full of quality and good lads who give their all for the club - you just need to compare it to where we were a few years ago when KLD came in to see how far we've come and how fast. And yet, here we are, with a sizeable proportion of the fanbase wanting, sorry actually demanding, that we rip everything up and start again, arguing that there's not a single aspect of the club that's right. The players are suddenly under fire and 'not good enough', Speakman is incompetent, Beale the devil incarnate and we know the views on KLD now.

I saw similar to @Smug in Boots with regards to the Quinn's Bar but it was on Facebook in response to the club's post. In fact everyone of the club's posts on any social media regardless of the topic sees the same negative, venomous attack from our 'supporters' (RTG are having a meltdown over us not signing Luke ****ing Ayling ahead of Boro ffs). How is that anything but counter productive, what is it going to achieve apart from creating a negative atmosphere around the whole club which absolutely will permeate to the players' conscience and negatively affect performances. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.

I've also said before (god I'm a repetitive bastard!) but a sizeable proportion of our fanbase, encouraged by the fanzines, have a completely adversarial relationship with the club. Constantly seeking for things to criticise or be angry about. I appreciate we've been hurt and let down as supporters numerous times down the years but now we're at the point where we don't recognise when we're on to a good thing and we're at risk of totally ****ing it up for ourselves as a result.

RTG has been infiltrated with Mags for years now. Them, together with the usual run of the thick as mince mill ne'er- do- wells, is the reason why so many of our genuine fans don't go there any more. Take no notice of what goes on over there. It's a toxic place without any credibility.
