Seymour Stein has died aged 80.

Not exactly a household name, but his Sire record label signed Talking Heads, The Ramones, The Pretenders, Madonna, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, The Undertones and Echo and Bunnymen among many others, he's even credited with coming up with the term New Wave.

Experimental Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto has died, aged 71

The Grammy Award-winning electronic music star, who also won an Oscar and Bafta for his film work, was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in 2021.

Sakamoto’s team annouced that he died on Tuesday (28 March).


The music star, who was inpsired by Debussy and The Beatles, began studying music composition when he was 10.

Sad news.Lydon will be devastated but I hope he takes some comfort from the fact that they had a long and happy relationship and she is now free from a horrible illness.

RIP Nora.

gareth richards, stand-up comedian and co-star with frank skinner on the latter's show on absolute radio, has died at the age of 4 after severe injuries from a road accident on march 27th.
 
Mark Sheehan, a guitarist and co-founder of The Script, has died at the age of 46, the band has announced.

The 46-year-old died in hospital after a brief illness, according to a statement from the Irish rock band.

"Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness," the group Tweeted.
 
One of Yorkshire 's last Land Army girls 'who did every job on the farm despite being under 5ft tall' dies at the age of 99

Mark Stewart, who was celebrated for his dizzying and politicised blend of post-punk, dub and funk as frontman of the Pop Group and in a solo career, has died aged 62.

News of his death was confirmed by his label Mute, who wrote: “In honour of this original, fearless, sensitive, artistic and funny man, think for yourself and question everything. The world was changed because of Mark Stewart, it will never be the same without him.” No cause of death has been given.
