I haven't been to Egypt so can't compare the two unfortunately. The hotels in Cape Verde are the big resort style, nice but probably around ~2000 guests in each (or at least the Riu ones are like that). They seem to all be in the south of Sal clustered around Santa Maria with is s small and very laid back town.We basically like hot sunbathing weather and going into the sea
We did research on Mauritius during our long haul days
We couldn’t decide and went to goa instead
We are thinking of Cape Verde not to far to fly not sure if it will be like sharm or hurgurder wish we did not like
However might try Cape Verde because you can now fly from ponteland

Bali in June for 2 weeks
Looking for a cheapish city break, booked Tenerife for next year but that feels too far away now, done krakow, Prague, Dusseldorf, Porto before if anyone has any recommendations
I could try and tie that in with pre season….Totally random but I went to Alicante several years ago literally for 2 days but I loved it!
I think most Aussies go to Bali? I know my family there do. It's like Europe for a Brit
Madrid is tremendous.Looking for a cheapish city break, booked Tenerife for next year but that feels too far away now, done krakow, Prague, Dusseldorf, Porto before if anyone has any recommendations

Have a look at Kirkcudbright, about 20 miles west of Dumfries....lovely place.Sorry to side track the thread.
I have a window of opportunity in June for a week away but don't want to go too far. I was looking at South West Scotland say Dumfries over to Ayr. Does anyone have any suggestions?
It's just for my wife and I.
