Like a break to Spain. Malaga is surprisingly good and loads of flights. Seville is great we did cheap flight to Malaga and train to Seville only a couple of hours about 20euros. My favourite trip last year though was Valencia. Absolutely lovely they have spent a load of money on the city lately
Dumfries will forever live in my mind as the place I got a deep fried macaroni cheese pie. Was around 1980ish and came as a hell of a surprise when they lobbed it in the frier.
Off to Marbella next week for 2 weeks. Anglessey in July/August. Tenerife or Lanzarote in October. Bart
I’d do a few days in Whitby and the rest in Richmond. I know it doesn’t help you but I love the places. Enjoy wherever you choose mate.
Albir next Sunday for 10 days, Krakow for3 days on a stag end of May, Le Cala for a weeks golf in November. Will be booking another 2-3 for this year. We’re gonna start doing loads between October and the end of March, the weather here pisses us off more and more as we get older. Spend the lot before we die is the way forward now.
Went up as far as Oban one year, very pleasant. It was my ambition, at that time, to go right the way up and over the top but with the popularity of the NC500 its lost its appeal, well for me anyway. It must be about 25 years since we took an extended holiday in Scotland but after being up to Nairn last year its definitely rekindled my interest. All you need is decent weather.
Yes Valencia is a cracking place for long weekend / few days away - to me very similar layout to Barcelona - old town / new town and the coast / beaches but for me beats Barcelona hands down
We done Nairn( in a caravan) in January 14/15 years ago to do white water rafting on the River Findhorn. It was obviously cold and wet but perfect for flowing water and rapids. The drive there and back is as beautiful as you can get.
Love Plockton. Enjoyed every pub and eatery, not often you can say that, plus the mackerel fishing is excellent.
I can take or leave Whitby, it's never really grabbed me as a place to stay, fine for a day trip, maybe it's just me. My wife likes Richmond, may have something to do with that farm shop lol. Going to try a couple of nights in Ripon, visit Fountains Abbey and Studley, gets us out of the house lol
Drumochter Pass is stunning in the sunshine, not so sure I'd want to do it in the middle of winter mind
I’ve only ever drove through Ripon but may be it’s time to make a weekend of it. I love old squares like Richmond has so I’d like to see if it has a similar thing going on.
