Think back to his goals last season, if you made a video montage of them all you'd see loads of instances of him dribbling between a few defenders and poking it home. Rarely did he score from a McLean lay-off/flick on or even from someone else's pass. His goals were mainly created by himself.

The other side to the stat for that though would be how often did he create himself chances compared to having someone lay it off or flick it on for him? If it rarely happened then there's no wonder that few of his goals came about that way.

In the first half of the season when we played 4-4-2 there were plenty of one-on-ones created but he kept missing them. Maybe he can only score chances created by himself?

Anyway the point is, the fact that he created so many goals by himself proves he can play that role well enough.
