rather give billy knott a chance in the squad than that pile of *****

i pray to god we do not sign him, if we do it shows that our scouting network needs totally revamping, there is the whole world out there to find potential, i would rather us go and bring in some young kid from korea or japan that has shown a bit of potential as a marketing tool in that part of the world than andrews!!!!!!!

the dutch, german and french league's have some unbelievable young players that we could bring in for a couple of million but the club keeps going for plodder like 5m man gardner and now andrews. The club needs a change in direction with regards to finding the next gem.

as i said mon is the man but bloody hell!!

Please be just media rubbish

this, this, this!

I assume that was said tongue firmly in cheek mate. MO'N is not known for being that brilliant in the transfer market but he does do well with the squad once he gets it. Why don't you have a decent scouting network like ours (not gloating but you would benefit) who could be
in charge of transfers and leave him to do what he has proven to be one of the very best at... Managing!

You may have got it right now but I don't think I'll take any lessons about setting up a scouting network from Newcastle as Graham Carr IS your scouting network. Without him you'd be buggered and he only joined in Feb 2010 after the disaster that was Denis Wise. Its not like you have had 10 years unbridled success in the scouting side of things is it?

MoN only came to Sunderland in December 2012, so he hasn't exactly had the time to put into place any kind of scouting network. Pop Robson became our chief scout in July 2011 and has unearthed James McClean straight away for £300,000. Its a good start but we shall see what else he unearths this summer.

We will need a mixture of players MoN wants to bring in and those we find on the fringes like McClean. Andrews does not excite me but then he doesn't have to play for me he has to do that for the manager. All I need do is at least trust the manager to do the right thing and turn up on a Saturday to see the fruits of his labour.

If Andrews does come and he is ****e as has been said here AND fails the manager then only MoN will have himself to blame. If it all goes wrong then we will give the manager stick but its usually customary to at least see the lad play for us before we condemn him to the boo boy stakes?

not a fan at all mate, no better than what we have and we will never have a settled squad if we keep going for players like this as every summer we will be trying to move them on and replace them.

I would rather gamble on someone who plays for 1 of the lesser nations that has looked good in the euros that still play in there homeland (like GabreSallesie would of been gd to compete at RB) than going for a player that will offer nothing to the squad.

We have everything in place to kick on but we won't if we are going for Andrews, the club needs to show some ambition or grow a pair and take some risks, the last time we have taken risks have been on Mig and McClean, 2players that could of easily come to a new league and flopped but they are 2 of our best players and cost less than 3.5m combined!!!!

There is players out there to be had on the cheap as those two prove it!!! Newcastle have shown the way in having a good scouting network, Carr takes all the credit but he won't be the only 1, he will have a team of very good scouts, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Cisse have been fantastic for them and if they sold them would get triple back what they bought them for

you need to calm down lad, we havent signed anybody! mon has only just got back to work yesterday or something and your getting yourself all worked up over someone we might have nothing to do with....

and why oh why do you mention newcastle in everyone of your posts???

fair enough and I don't in every post lol but because they have shown that there is bargains out there

This is still just speculation and I suggest we treat it as such until we hear, if we ever do, that it is going ahead.

At that time I reserve the right to complain like hell, as I can't see this signing as a step forward.

I see what you mean. However much in the same way you have faith in one man (Martin O'Neill) I have the exact same faith in Carr to pick out players as he has done thus far (barring Obertan and possibly Marveaux). Carr does have a team under him to help him though. I doubt it is ALL down to him tbh. Of course, for all we know, Andrews could play like Messi under MO'N leaving most people on here with delightful eggs on their faces. Look how Pardew got plodders like Guthrie and Perch to play leaving us to look like mugs (I know you are all thinking that is not that difficult!)

One thing I did not know was that Pop Robson was your main scout. He did well to find McClean who has played well for you. I enjoy watching youngsters play with no fear and this kid has balls of steel and toes of magic. Keep unearthing gems like that and you will go far. Follow our blueprint and add your own bits. You will go far

thought out of all the other ireland players at the euros, who were crap, andrews played really well and was unlucky not to get goal or two. I would have no concern if he replicated those performances, my worry is that he won't

I'll rely on MoN vast years of experience on this one, as opposed to everyone just saying "he's ****e".
