Speaking as a republican with no like for the royal family and as someone that believes in innocent until proven guilty. Given the rumoured reason for his arrest today I find it a bit piss poor of plod to arrest him on his birthday. One more day wouldn't have harmed, still, plod like to make a splash and the BBC broke the exclusive story, nice bung for someone.

Not sure about that, if someone needs arresting they should be arrested, birthday or not.

I read some details that were reported, which i commented on.

I don't know the details of the background/parental situation of the mentioned victim. I would guess that she was in a vulnerable situation and from a low income background - the two together are sadly usually the worse combination for exploited victims.

Not heard that particular claim about Bill Gates only that he had been with Epstein.

As in a together in the same place not anything else.

Probably released on Police Bail. An initial 3 month period to allow further investigation. This period may be extended. No charges need be brought in this period. But, once charges have been brought, bail is set by a Magistrates Court or higher.
