Is it going up though?

Evidence of an increase
  • 4% increase (year ending June 2024): The Office for National Statistics (ONS) recorded a 4% rise in knife-enabled crime for the year ending June 2024, totaling 50,973 offenses.
  • 80% increase over a decade: This same period showed an 80% increase over the previous decade.
  • Increase in homicides with knives: In 2023/24, there were 262 homicides involving sharp instruments, up from 243 in the previous year.
  • Youth knife crime at a high: Knife crime among young people is reported to be at its highest point in over 20 years.

And that’s only the ones that are recorded! Personally I think you add a minimum of 15% on top of that at least.

Except when they're going up, like the previousfew years? What's the agenda then?

They’re going up all the time, year on year, for various reasons. Lack of discipline in todays society, lack of police, especially on the beat, rise of gangs because the kids make more out of drugs than actually doing a proper job, crime pays these days, it’s big money, and the just e system is that ****ed it’s ironic it’s actually called justice. I could go on forever.

USA style gang culture in London certainly has upped the the knife carrying over the last 20/30 years. Dripped through slowly, then picked up quickly pretty much through the internet.
Knife culture in the UK in general has certainly gone up unfortunately whether we like to say it or not by cultures who carry knifes and use them.
For every law abiding person in this country who care about people we need to start hitting this head on. No tolerance anymore.
Those people attacked yesterday who knows who tomorrow. If we allow this to spread it will.
