Just been to the supermarket here, Becks are now on the shelves, 500ml can for 0.55p, what's not to like.
There’s now a debate questioning the length of time not wealthy people have to wait for diagnosis and treatment, poor people die, rich people jump the queue.I'm not a royalist, but I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

....going private means using resources that would otherwise be working in the NHS. In fact many are 'working' in the NHS but reduce hours so they can go and earn more in private work.Or they are reducing the burden on the NHS by going private. They get treatment quicker but so does everyone else as there is one less person in the NHS queue.

Cancer patients can still be left waiting for treatment. Friend of mine was diagnosed and then left more than 3 months before treatment started.
Not good enough. It's a mess.

Not really TW I kind of wonder in this day and age with the cost of living where people see lines drawn. Fair few I know have private health thrown in at work but I wouldn’t call them wealthy.Holy crap, you'll set him off.

I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer April 2023 and in May I had the op' , fortunately it hadn't spread was caught early, because of my GP , and I don't need any further treatment. In October 2023 unrelated to the other cancer I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer had an op to remove tumours in November . Yesterday I has an investigation and my bladder was all clear, no need for any further treatment , just surveillance. Thanks to the quick diagnosis and treatment from the NHS it didn't have chance to spread. Cancer treatment on the NHS is swift and excellent. I can't thank then enough. If it's suspected you have cancer, you get seen immediately, regardless of how much money you've got. In fact, GPs refer people as potential cancer patients, even when they're pretty sure they haven't got cancer, just to make sure they get access to scans etc straight away. They've done it with me three times now.
As someone who has also had both those types of cancer I can concur on all you said. Keep smiling mate.I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer April 2023 and in May I had the op' , fortunately it hadn't spread was caught early, because of my GP , and I don't need any further treatment.
