I too had a visit to his house about the same time I paid £10 more !!! Many GP ‘s have done private clinics for many many years , 20 years ago to see Mr Cain in Albion St - £ 125 for 10 mins to che k my knee out , he had several very flash cars an enormous Villa and did about two days NHS work a week . Perhaps if they did a bit more NHS work a week we’d get the numbers down - but don’t forget the NHS has been sending patients to Spire and Bupa for surgery at NHS expense for a long time - it’s all a mess . My concern is nobody ever seems to be in any kind of hurry when you visit clinics for consultation or referrals - not sure some know what pressure is . By the way when you hear people say I couldn’t do that job , it’s a choice so you should expect what you are going to see - lots of Illness and injury - nature of the beast.
I had surgery at the Spire in Anlaby, as they'd exceeded the six month waiting time that was in place at the time and had to sort it privately. What surprised me, was that the NHS have an estimated cost for each procedure and hospital stay, which they compare to the cost of having it done privately and Spire was actually cheaper than the NHS estimated cost for doing it themselves.
That’s likely to be because they’ve estimated it wrongly to excuse themselves for using the private system
Just read about this, the 'Enhanced Games'. Invented by an Aussie and it's like Olympics on drugs. Competitors can take whatever performance enhancing substances they like and there's no testing. Sounds bizarre to me, might just as well stick an engine up your arse and have done with it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/swimming/68248821
No one I know has private health insurance, and I would imagine someone working in Asda on the tills doesn’t get private health thrown in with their wages, and private health is a bit of a con because if you have an emergency like a heart attack they whip you straight to A&E, private health insurance is great if you can afford it, but it seems your ****ed without it, given the state of the NHS
My daughter has private health insurance courtesy of her husbands work and my sisters family are all covered via her work.
Massive fan of the NHS and will support it forever. Bailed me out big time twice. As for A and E totally agree and it’s one area that really needs overhauling. Private health is increasing as a benefit but not something I personally have.
Not sure what I'm letting myself in for with this but I'll give it a go... Anyone got any experience with robotic lawn mowers?
A bit like the normal Olympics then? The rider being, don't get caught out by the testing. I can no longer marvel at seemingly superhuman athleticism without wondering what they snorted, injected, or to pinch a bit from your post, stuck up their arse.
