Higher education sector's in a right old mess at the moment, this case isn't surprising at all.
They're at 50-75% off everything, all of the time.
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time etc...
When a teacher leaves a school in this country they might get a card... in NZ however...

It never ceases to amaze me how seriously they all take it. No giggles, no self conscious smirks, and they all know every word and action, without looking round.
I just have the vision of the retiring teacher taking the mic after that and just saying "ta" and wandering off stage.
