Well naturally they'd build their craft to suit our understanding of physics so that we could understand it. Otherwise it would be a huge inconvenience.

Seems odd that they'd use gravitational lensing then considering it's a phenomenon we do understand. Surely they'd use Complastic Kerschlagelags?

At which point it would whizz past any planet in seconds or you could slam directly into it, instantly incinerating anything on board. If you actually wanted to orbit a planet you'd need a huge amount of fuel to slow down. More fuel than we can physically launch or even get to those speeds. Aaaand you'd have to start slowing down about 10,000 years before you got there, making it an even longer journey, while waiting eight years for a reply to "Are we nearly there yet?".

You should probably take a book or something.
Not forgetting your MOT

It's a phenomenon we understand in relation to gravity, but not as a method of travel.

It's not a method of travel. It's the warping of spacetime around mass. Using gravitational lensing as a method of transport is like looking through binoculars and appearing at the place you're looking at. You can't physically pass through a lens.

I don't believe they'd have to pass through it in order to utilise it.

The person on the front row, eyes gleaming fervently and shouting " I believe!!! Yes, I believe!!!" will be Sterling.

You're very derisive. It's actually quite annoying that you ignore everything I say and persist with this disjointed view you have of me. I don't mind that people don't believe what I say, I welcome discussion about it. But if you continue to be a dick about it then you're just making yourself look stupid. In a discussion about UFOs and the paranormal, you're making yourself look daft. Think of that.
