naaaaah too easy for them... has to be a local and as someone said in the report someone skilled at felling and with the right equipment It also seems this is not an easy place to access....the article is hysterical though... 'we're not sure if it was blown down by storm Agnes or cut down!!!
Interesting and rather tragic story - with a happy ending. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66876177
'It has sparked claims that the tree was vandalised by a 'professional' and the park authority believes it was deliberately chopped down'. How could it not be deliberate, they took a chainsaw to it.
I've been cutting trees down with chainsaws for 30 + years and never used paint... so not sure how the paint indicates a chainsaw usage.. unless the writer means that paint was used on the tree by travellers to mark it to be cut down by their teenage sons, because they're not prosecutable for vandalism if under a certain age.
I was just casually walking by the tree and my chainsaw sparked into life, unfortunately the angle of dangle coincided with the tree and the next thing i know the tree was on its side.
