Just thinking about how much of a difference Sone made to our team in terms of turning on the ball and driving everybody forwards. Do you think he will be better suited to the prem style or will he not shine as much? Could you see him moving from us up to a bigger club after a season or two?

We need to sign him on an extension NOW. If he has a good 6 months in the media spotlight he can talk to other clubs on Jan 1st. I'm worried about this...

Aluko is a bit of a gamble, remember Cameron Stewart, he might have caught what he had and not be half the player we remember.

It appears Cameron Stewart has left some people thinking like cuckolded husbands and fearing the worst about everyone. Why on earth would Aluko be the same as him? He has far more physical strength and no sign of the mental fragility that Stewart has displayed during his massive loss of confidence.

Someone mentioned on this thread about how Fryatt came to be regarded as a better player while he was out injured, and I agree. But in Aluko's case it almost seems to be the opposite, with some people forgetting what a huge difference he made to the team.

I agree. He linked everything going forward and without him and with a slightly mis-firing Koren we had nothing linking a workmanlike midfield with a plodding attack. The was no invention and unpredictibility. I think Boyd was brought in to address exactly this but we've struggled t find his best role. Simple fact is Aluko is our only 'surprise' player and if we dont know what he's doing how can the oppo?

Stockdale
Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon
Quinn Meyler
Elmo Aluko Brady
(New proper striker)

Obviously a few improvements would be made to that team but I aren't going to guess who Bruce is going to sign. I would want to play something like that, the three in behind could interchange or you could even stick Elmo at right back and put someone new into the three.

Your main striker got 7 this season...

But still we went up. It's about winning, not scoring lots of goals. I'd be happy if we won every game 1 nil. That said, I take your point. We do need a good goal threat (who would also take the heat off other players and allow them to score more as well.

What about Woods from Leicester? Seems to know where the net is, presume he wants Premier League football, and won't get it where he is.

but who is our main striker? aluko would of been our top goal scorer by far but hes not a striker and i hope to god hes not played there in the prem. fryatt i dont rate for championship let alone prem, disregard my opinion and do you really see fryatt scoring enough goals to keep us in the prem? simpson obviously not, prossie? obviously not, boyd? again not a striker. koren? also not a striker.

now given that we currently have 0 pl ready strikers in our squad, if we dont find a prolific pl proven or ready striker to bang our goals in it will be worse than this season. our squad as whole has not chipped in with enough goals in the championship, so logic tells me they wont in the pl...

It may come as a shock to you, given that you only joined this board in Jan this year, but most, pretty much all, of us on here have been saying the same thing (but in English).

We all know we need a pair of goal scoring strikers. We've needed that pretty much since Deano retired, Fraiser Campbell wriggled off in the long grass of Sunderland (like the snake he is), and Marlon changed career to Mail Bag sewing.

Finding them, paying for them, and persuading them to come to Hull has been the problem. I know some have just been Duffen's wet dreams, but we have tried Negredo, Zamorra, Owen etc.

I expect Bruce to be better at finding them, the Allams to be better at finding the money, and especially Steve Bruce to be much more able to get them to come here. However, his track record indicates that the first we'll know about it is when they are "done deals".

Having said which, I can't agree with you that our squad as a whole haven't chipped in with enough goals in the Championship. They got enough to get us promoted.

I'm so pleased for Sone.

Let's be honest he only chose us because of Bruce and considering what happened at Rangers and what happened to him after a blistering start , it must have been very hard to watch from the sidelines and I think we have shown him he made the right choice.

I think he'll catch a few eyes out there from many who probably don't know him.
Can't wait to see him in action!

If you take out Stockdale and have Dudge as back up to a new left back, then that's actually a really strong team and has made me feel quite optimistic (assuming we see last season's Chester rather than this season's).

Aluko I think will be better in the PL, but we'll have to wait and see. We know **** all.

If aluko hasnt lost any of his game with his injury he's more than good enough, better than zaha imho

How is that 'Pissy Pants'? If I referred to Sone Alukos or Jack Hobb people would jump all over it.

Why is being 'correct' so frowned upon?

To be fair you are right.

So imagine my astonishment when I saw you had missed the apostrophe in "haven't"

"Woods? You mean people still havent learned from that name on the back of shirt fiasco?"

I may never recover from the shock.

Oh, and by the way, shouldn't it be "learnt"?

What is the blokes name anyway? Why can't he just have something simple and easy to spell - like Proschwitz?

Not a spelling error or someone's wrong name is it? It was pure 'couldnt be arsed to press the apostophe'.
