Derby beat Sheff. W. lunch time on saturday
We beat Bolton
We beat Sheff W.

Normally above scenario would be well plausible. Unfortunately the way things are not so much so. However if Zohore starts, though we must have a chance.

All down to final game then....and who knows.

I thought about that whiff - but then I woke up.

Must say it's a very plausible scenario though, mainly due to Sheff Wed being almost as bad as us these past 3 games. What would we have given for 4 or 5 points from the 9 available from Fulham, QPR and Brentford rather than just the one we got..

Our wounds are self inflicted and we have only ourselves to blame.

Sheff Wed goal difference is so much better than ours, they're effectively 7 points ahead. If we go into the last game all square on points with them (big ask), as you say anything could happen if we can beat Brum at the CCS. They would then need to win at Molineux and that could be tough.

Time I think to say goodbye to RS. He,s been very good at leveling us out and getting rid of some of the highly paid dross he inherited, however the job is now done, we are safe and he needs to be thanked for his effort and leave. he obviously has an arrogant streak that does not allow him to believe changes need to be made on the playing side and he stubbornly sticks to people in the belief that he knows their better playing position, they in return do not perform to the best of their ability and this is reflected within our results. Thank you for helping us out, sterling job, however we now need someone else to take us on to another level on the pitch, and if possible please take Mr Young with you!!

IF...........

(With apologies to Whiffle)

My aunty had bo££ocks she would be my uncle.

We have no chance. If we had shown some form in the last 3 games I would agree with you but we haven't. Championship again next season.

I agree with Bluebanana. Time for Russell to pick up his P.45 and stroll off into the sunset. He did what he was paid to do, sort out the finances and consolidate in the division. He is not capable of moving us on from there.

Noop! Never say die, say I!!! My little scenario on the other thread is much less likely and even more unfair to whoever comes third. But I will ride it till it dies. It may well die very soon too and my predictions league position will probably die with it. But what the hell!!!

Strangely enough my £10 bet at 40/1 placed with B365 just before the QPR game for City to be promoted is still offering me a £9.50 cash out despite the last two results.

Also the 40/1 odds haven't changed either.

Should I call it a day and get £9.50 back or stick it out for the ride a la whiffle's OP scenario?

Is the continued suspense and "entertainment" worth £9.50? If so, then stick with it.

Me? I would cash out now. This season must have been worth 50p. Just about!!!

Sorry Bluey, I think I'll go with Taff's advice - I can see itnow.....................

Derby nick a goal Saturday lunchtime to beat the Wendies and then we beat Bolton 14 - 0 that afternoon.

We go up to Sheffield the following week and sneak a draw. A point apiece and into the last game of the season 3 points behind them - then we pull our masterstroke.

Vince Tan comes over for the game and offers Le Fondre and Mason the freedom of Kuala Lumpur if they stick it to the Wendies in the last game for old times sake.

But that's not all.............he takes Rowett to one side before the game at the CCS and offers him Slade's job if he could arrange something with his boys.

Next thing you know is there's £410 in my B365 account..........'ang on a bloody minute! - we've still got to win the playoffs for that to happen...........<laugh>

Apart from the result against Brighton, our season ended when Slade finally abandoned his favoured 4 4 2. The problem is he changed it for 4 6 0.

Absolute disaster of a season when you look at the players we have had in the squad. I've said before that while no club has a 'right' to get promoted we had the players here to challenge the top two. Allowing for the odd dip in form we should have made the play offs as an absolute minimum.

Barring the strangest set of results ever, between now and the end of the season we have failed. That is down to one man. He has had his time. We need a manager for next season who has some tactical nous and who can motivate or kick arse of the players we have.

Sorry Bluey, I think I'll go with Taff's advice - I can see itnow.....Sparks I think you should cash in now as you owe me a pair of trousers ,I just split them laughing, you should be on the stage as a stand up comic.Keep it up.................

Nice try Whiffle but it just isn't going to happen.
The only good things to come out of the past 3 games against lower placed teams incidentally are
1. Surely the board realise Slade is useless and can't be our manager next season
2. We won't have to suffer being stuffed by Brighton in the play offs
3. Hopefully he will give Zahore and maybe Kennedy, John & Healey some game time in last few games.

Easy decision. Cash out and put the £9.50 on at 50-1 which other firms are offering.

Sausage - I reckon if Sheff Wed lose at Derby tomorrow lunchtime and then we beat Bolton to get the gap down to 3 points, that cash out figure will go up to over 20 quid.

That's when I'll have the real problem............<laugh> <ok>

OS
Imagine you had put a pony on Leicester to win title, and been offered 72k to cash out a few months ago or see it out and potentially net 250k!

What would you have done?
